One mod that I did was glue washers around the channel scan and power button. The hole in the washer fits around the button so you can still press the button. The power button is quite exposed and a few times I have found that the googles were discharged because something in my flying bag had rested on and turned on the power. I can't tell you how many times I have accidently pressed the scan button when putting the googles on or off. It's a pain having to rescan the channels looking for your model, or manually setting the channel. Now it's not as likely that i will do it by mistake.

I recommend adding kapton tape to entire back of the screen. The back of the screen looks like thin-steel or aluminum, and it's conductive. One youtuber demonstrated in his battery mod video that this metal back is charged at something like 5v, so it causes bad interference if the screen touches the circuit board. (It was happening to me.) Yeah, so about 2 or 3 single layer pieces of kapton tape did the trick! (depending on the width of the tape. I think I have a roll of 2" wide kapton.) I hope this helps someone!

Also since I literally just tried that yesterday. If you plug in the 2s/3s charge in port without a battery plugged into the board. You get magic smoke. Hey the big reason not to do this (I found out the hard way the one time I tried it lol) is it will just destroy your 3s battery. Bu the way Nik, would definitely not recommend this. Just get on amazon and buy some xt30 connectors. So I would just like to add these notes to Do RC's excellent video (mostly covered below already): [ ] Hit like and subscribe and hit the bell to support our friend here! [ ] Use connectors. If you already have 2s batteries, put the same type on the other end so you can swap packs and properly balance charge them. The connector in the goggles for the battery is PH2.0. [ ] Don't use the built in charger anymore after doing this mod. It will slowly kill your batteries. [ ] If you use the 3s cable, keep in mind it will happily destroy your battery when you leave the goggles on (it only senses low voltage on the internal battery, not the one connected to the charging port.) [ ] Consider making another longer extension cable to plug into the female xt30 you put by the headband. Make it long enough to pocket the battery. [ ] Always hit record! It may help you find your drone that went down when you watch the video. [ ] Hit like and subscribe and hit the bell to support our friend here! Drew (Le Drib from Rotor Riot) even flew my pair of EV800d's while I was trying his DJI goggles. He actually said, "Wow! I forgot how good these are." I said yeah I hate to say it but I try the fatsharks and I don't enjoy flying with them." Le Drib said, "Yeah box goggles are better!
