I went in from zero 2 days ago, and struggled to tell notes apart that were immediately next to each other c/d etc. Then I realised you can create custom levels so I created pairs and trios to help me differentiate before heading back to the set(s) of 4 and in 2 days I can complete the first level 100% every time and can now sing the 4 notes C/D/E/F up and down (Verified by an instrument). Good find.

The brilliance of the Functional Ear Trainer is it breaks the scale in two -- degrees 1,2,3,4 and 5,6,7,1. This makes it so easy to hear where any note fits in the scale once you know the tonic.

I love this app! Been using it for a couple months. My ear is slightly on the bad side of the bell curve, and interval training has been brutally difficult for me. Downloaded this app and my progress has been incredible in only a short time. I saw this video, and I was wondering if it was in regard to the app in question

After step 6 in the 'Intro games' it start to become more difficult than the 'Basic Training', and I suggest skipping those until "nailing" "the Whole Octave" part in Basic Training. I am pretty amazed in 1) How much I struggled in the beginning and 2) How fast I was making progress. It is a great no-nonsense app!

Hello dear Nathan! I want to thank you for suggesting this app This app is great Genuinely speaking my first 2-3 days were kind of boring with this app but after about 3-4 days happened the magic Within 1 week I feel like I mastered the c major scales I can tell any degree of C major just by hearing once not even reapeating to hear This is just great only thing you need is Just some earphones and only 10minutes a day The advanced settings in this app is also very enjoyable way to learn it's like a game which you can play even for hours I wish if you continue to post here more about ear training because now I beleive in you and your methods literally Please post here more about ear training

I've been using that app for a few days. I went from getting around 50% of them correct to now in the 80-95% range. The (2) and (3) are kind of hard to tell apart though but I referenced them to (1) and (4) which kind of helped.

Hi there, first of all sorry for bad English. Tbh you are such a experienced guitarist I ever seen, so I have a question, recently I started play guitar and my skill improve very fast cause I practice everyday. However after that I find it is so hard just to learn new techniques or new song, is that normal for a beginner guitarist, thank you for your precious time spending for my comment.
@BeyondTheGuitarAcademy4 жыл бұрын
Yes that's normal. Everything takes time. Make sure you're trying to learn easy "beginner" level songs, not something that's way above your skill level. Keep it up!

Does it work for singers? I have difficulty perceiving tuning!
@rodtompkins3 жыл бұрын
This type of ear training is extremely useful for singers. You will be much more aware of the notes you are singing and how they fit into the music. It will be much easier for you to sing the correct pitches and keep them in tune.

@@nakiarobby3996 but then what we have to guess ??? And how also
@nakiarobby39962 жыл бұрын
@@dushyantsharma4410 well they will play the 1-4-5-1 progression first then after they will play a single note right after which is the note you should play. All you do you listen for the sound of that note and Sing Do-re-mi-fa-so-la-ti-do and pick which one sounds right and then after, the rest notes before the correct note they play descending then play over the 1-4-5-1 progression. I hope this was helpful but that's what I notice so far.

Can you arrange a song the verse in the key of D and the chrous in C?
@BeyondTheGuitarAcademy4 жыл бұрын
I wouldn't recommend it. Unless you find a natural way to transition between keys, it'll likely sound jarring when it changes keys from verse to chorus. Unless the original song changes keys like that, I generally try to keep an arrangement all in the same key
