Thank you, Nathan. I'm trying to learn Colours by Donovan. I have the melody notes and chords, and am looking forward to working on the bass line, thanks to your video!

Yes!! I practiced the way you show at first and made almos no progress, the way I achieved an acceptable tremolo was by brute forcing recuerdos de la alhambra

I love percussive guitar and have been practicing but I have trouble most with the kick drum wrist thump. Especially have trouble getting the wrist down and playing a bass note @ the same time. Any suggestions?

Just found your video. I am currently playing electronic drums and it has a built-in metronome. It also has the ability to import songs and slow them down to 50%. Looking to start playing guitar and this software will help me learn faster and correctly. Thanks for the video.

5:50 - "...even with the strongest of 'Whys', we can still fail and make the wrong choices in these moments of weakness." -- I have a serious problem with this. Sometimes, taking a break is the right choice. Sometimes, leaving the guitars alone isn't a failure.

Really fun, because for classical guitarist we not use this way to play, so it is a very big challenge. If we can do well than we can play master etudes. Actually I think by this way people (like you) will get a improvisation capacity. So it is very fun, for you make classical player a jazz player and flamenco player.

I got something out of your lesson It's helpful but how do you keep your tremelo fingers so tight when they move? you mentioned this at the beginning and I was hoping you would cover that. My tremelo fingers are all over the place. Thanks

Whoa. I was looking for motivation. And I've bombarded myself with motivation that it won't motivate me anymore. This video is something I wanted to see. It's true.. motivation can come and go. But we still have to practice guitar anyways. It's a learning curve (or I should call it a bend 😅) we need to follow. And why? Because, I want it. Nothing can take me away from my will. Why? Because music is so personal thing to me. I wanna play what I like to listen. Whether it's on music player or its in my own head playing own tune. Why? Because it's meditation for me. It reminds me of me.. the younger version of myself who once was so enthusiastic. Why? Because look at the world.. what kind of music is being made. Terrible. I wanna partake into those 2-3% of people who make real music with real instruments which can be played live without auto tune and lip sync or just acting on stage on pre recorded audio. I wanna put a life into it. Why? Because I wanna be proud of myself in my older age telling my grandchildren that your grandpa has made own songs which are real headbangers. (I really wanna make at least 7-8 songs i.e. an album of my own before I die. Idc if people love it or not. If its hit or not.) And final why? Because we gonna die someday. I don't want this guilt of not learning guitar the way I want when I'm dying. Bitter truth.. we can die any moment. So it's better to re-start the practice sessions right now!!! PS. I'm waiting for my new string sets to be delivered at my home. I can't really start practice like right now. Pardon. But I'll surely start soon.

It makes a bigger difference in person than over video for sure. Ukulele is what I play for this style because of its reentrant tuning.

Habbit: not holding the note for the full duration. Whole notes are obvious, but quarter notes and half notes I tend to not notice. Especially if i need to "prepare" my finger for the next note. Know what I mean? :).

I totally agree . . . it’s a wonderful technique . . . I’ve tried and tried but I just can’t seem to get right . . . especially the kick simultaneously while playing a bass note. I love the sound and would sure save me a lot of time, effort and expense spent on looping pedals to try and compensate. Appreciate you sharing your technique and talent. I play local gigs usually in a one man band or duo format and always looking for ways to fill out the sound.
