I know Matt was the rhythm guitarist but damn I hope Ol keeps this same style or at least wrote a lot of these songs.

It is a little different. Definitely, vocally. But, it is still good. Maybe Matt will get back to it after a hiatus. I wish I would've stayed with it instead of giving up. I'm married and have kids, too, so I understand Matt's predicament. I studied classical and Flamenco guitar. I am an old school thrasher (used to play in the early to mid '90s). Almost lost my left index finger. Gave up on music, even though I could still play, just fell into depression. Then, after getting back into music and being a vocalist for a heavy/trashy/Alice in Chains type band, developed a polyp on a vocal cord which required surgery. Those set backs can really get into your head. Couple that with having a wife and kids, and it can put one in a dilemma. If I could talk to Matt, I would tell him to not completely give up on his passion. I am 50 and allowed myself to get discouraged, but I still have that thrash rage inside me. I still play, write music. But, I'm not in a band, playing music, getting out all of these pent-up emotions and opinions. I miss it. I am sure Matt will, too. Oddly enough, I just discovered this band about a month ago. I bought the first four albums in one shot, a couple of days ago. Somebody in that band has a very similar style to mine. I have songs I wrote in the early '90s that have riffs in them very similar to the chorus riffs in "Enter The Grave," and "Eternal Empire," and the opening riffs to "Thrasher." Riffs with a "hook." Hell, I was listening to one of the songs and the bridge riff for the solo is nearly identical to an intro riff to "Color Me of Dead," one of the first song we, as a band (Cannabis), wrote in 1990. I think like these guys musically, and vocally, I am kind of like Matt, only with a little "John Bush" sound to my voice at times. Anyhow, on a tangent. Apologies, stoned as f.. Lol! OL decided to return, maybe Matt will, in the future. But his family and health are important to him and that is respectable and commendable. Regardless, I wish him happiness and contentment and an outlet for what stirs inside. He and his bandmate's music and lyrics have poured fuel onto my raging fire of thrashing flames. I am inspired to finish my jam space and turn it into a recording space. My son is learning drums, loves thrash. So, he will be my jam buddy, and he can help me write songs and I can help develop him into a thrash drummer with old school feel, because his dad is an old school thrasher. (My influences, rhythmically are Hexenhaus, Exodus, Overkill, Megadeth and Metallica. So, that is about as old school as you can get.) Speaking of thrash, it is a shame Exhorder split, AGAIN! They were an AWESOME thrash/groove metal band. Vinnie La Bela is a riff machine! I would love to jam with that dude! (Met him once; talked for a while, watched Exodus together. Really laid back dude. Nice guy.)
