Can Gouache be used like Watercolors?

Haha i also use minsan the himi gouache as watercolors, pero konti lang layers para mas transparent^^ ART TIP po for people that buy the himi miya moisturizing spray. Because medj mahal yung spray na yun, you can use pure glycerin instead! You can buy a small glass bottle of it sa mga pharmacy shops (like Mercury or Watsons) I spray and mix this into each gouache cup, and its been almost two months after, and theres significant improvement from drying/cracking👍💖 Here's the recipe/stuff you need: 1. Any spray bottle 2. Pure glycerin 3. Clean water (purified, distilled, etc, basta not tap water/tubig galing sa gripo) Recipe and steps: Pour into the spray bottle: 1 part glycerin 4 parts clean water Close the spray bottle, and shake well. Thats all :D spray your miya gouache and mix each color well. Do this each time your miya gouache is starting to dry or crack again, or after each painting session of keeping the gouache exposed to air for a long time. You can search what glycerin as an ingredient does to know why this can help gouache paint from drying/cracking✌ feel free to ask me any question if gusto ninyo ^^💖

What's the watercolor do you use?? What's your favorite watercolor brand?? Do use mont marte watercolor paper more than fabriano??(because I've been seeing you use it)

• I was using the Alpha Artists Watercolor, as listed in the description box. • My faves would be the Alpha, Pretty Excellent, and Superior line. • I don't often use this Mont Marte, Fabriano will be always my go-to paper. Thanks for the questions!🎨

I know you dilute watercolors and gouache with water, but I wonder if there’s a way to dilute gouache so it has better consistency and transparency. I felt even it was still more opaque in the layering test and might have layered better if more diluted? Or maybe it’s just the additives like you said. Either way, thank you for this video! I was wondering if I should buy a set of gouache or watercolor first, and this answered my question! :)

hello, maganda ba yung mont marte na wc pad??? plano ko po bumili and naghahanap ako ng mas makapal kasi nahihirapan na ko sa canson na 200 gsm☹️ lagi sya nagcrucrumple and baka same lang din sa fabriano na 200 gsm. Ang pinapractice ko din na gouache/wc paintings ay mostly screencaps from animes kaya i need ng mas makapal kaso beginner palang kaya i dont want to spend too much sa paper like strathmore and so on na pangmapera😭 salamat sayoooo napakalaking tulong ng vids mo huhu😩✊🏻❤️

does the texture look almost the same as watercolor after they’ve dried? i’ve never tried gouache and i would think their texture would appear the same as acrylic paint.

I think it is no. Because wc are not opaque like the gouache. Gouache can be used in thick opaque layers and light on dark. I have never tried gouache but this is what I've heard and seen 😂😂
