14:30 Myriad Landscape revealed! What a great thing to cheat into play with Hakbal's second clause. But moments later it was discovered that no one has finished reading a Magic card textbox since 2019. And the same land was binned in clean-up. =*(

Great game! The only thing I'll say is around 20mins or so, veggie plays a mountain, then the corsair captain, then the windfall and then before combat he plays a swamp. 2 lands on 1 turn.

great game! and man, from the games ive seen from the LCI precons, the decks aren't too balanced, (maybe its luck) but the merfolk deck is by far the most synergistic and powerful. As maldhound says, and I love this: "Wet Elves"

26:55 Just fyi, it's not read "commit AND memory" the card is read "Commit TO Memory". All of the "aftermath" cards are read that way. Dusk to Dawn. Driven to Despair. Cut to Ribbons, etc. Fuse cards are the ones that are read "and" instead of "to". Beck and Call, Toil and Trouble, etc. The mix up is understandable, but just thought I'd point it out in case you genuinely didn't know there was a difference in the naming convention.

Calv should've been played turn 3 or 4 so he can build a board that'll cause a major headache late game. Your opponent would have to choose between risking a 4/3 flyer that allows you to draw cards off of cheap vampire or not attacking/board wipe.

I took apart my merfolk deck because it was too easy for it to win on its own without me making a single hard decision and then we returned to Ixalan and got a metric ton of new support so I'm not surprised by this outcome in the slightest.

VERY NEW to magic the gathering! I’m 26 now but I grew up around friends and family who’s played this game. I always found it complicated but now I’m somewhat able to understand it. My mother (who’s been playing since 99) LOVES her orzhov decks along with her white and black mono decks and I think it’s quite interesting because of how different these philosophies are but are able to meet in the middle. She hates playing with my father cause he plays blue mono decks and it seems like he’s always a step ahead 😅 She’s been persuading me to make my own black and white decks and gave me a list of cards to buy and so far I’ve only bought Sheoldered, Elesh Norn, Ghostly prison, Teferis protection, and Dark ritual. Are there any tips on what black and white cards I should buy?

Newbie here, just a question, if brontodon got protection from all color because of akroma's will, how did commit manage to target it?

Aroma's Will was still on the stack. You can see it still sitting on the table. This means that the spell did not resolve. So nerdgirl could still target it. After the bounce happens then Will resolves and gives the remaining creatures protection. :) Hope this helps!

So far most of the games I saw of the precons are the same: the simic goes nuts from turn 1 and becomes archenemy, the Dino catch up and become degenerate, the pirates do its thing but is forgettable and the vampire merely does anything due to lack of removal/card draw/ ramp so if you consider playing the vampire because you are an orzhov main like me, I would suggest adding more ramp, removal and card draw and even a little bit of soft stax could help.
