Early Morning Buzzbait Fishing for Bass (War Eagle Buzz Toad Buzzbait)

I took the War Eagle Buzz Toad Buzzbait out to see if I could find some topwater loving bass. Getting up early has been key to my topwater success the past month. The buzzbait is something that I truly need to throw more often! It's a great choice when there is a chop on the water and you need to make more commotion. Thanks for watching feeshin friends!

Yeah, I get some folks only want huge fish and that's fine. Fishing is something different for everyone. I just don't have spots like that with tons of huge largies. Life is all about perspective and I'm just happy that I'm still healthy enough to get out and enjoy fishing. Thanks for watching man!

Love the sound of a buzzbait in action. One of my absolute favorite baits to throw. I really like the WarEagle baits too! Had a couple of good days on Kerr Lake earlier this year, with videos to prove it.

I am not a really big fan of trailer hooks on my spinners, but more as a search lure. Once I start getting short strikes it means I have found fish so now an under spin or a chatter a swim bait or even a topless should keep me busy the rest of the day.. If they will strike at it then slowing down just a little will get them in the boat.

Yeah, I've found that the loud buzzbait can bring out fish and a follow up is necessary. However, the topwater buzzbait can bring out the big ones that would otherwise not come out. Looks like this place brought out the little fellas 🤣👊

Thank you for the honorable mention that was funny. I only suggest ideas for thought, I do not expect you do any unless you want too.. I am a nag about drags because no one pays much attention to something so important. Precise drag settings make catching heavy fish on light line possible. If I chose I can apply thumb pressure to the spool increasing power to the hook set. I can also pull fish from cover doing it too. If the fish is huge I can coax it out or away from cover into open water then let it tire and avoid breaking it off or pulling free of the hook. Think how many times fish reeled in too quickly to the bank or boat jump off, lots. There is a fine line between landing a fish fast and using so much pressure, that they pull free. The closer you bring a fish to the tip of your rod the less control you have.

That would depend upon the lure choice. For most all treble hook baits a 7-7½' m power mod fast action. Could also bump up to a MH mod fast (softer tip) if you don't throw lighte lures.

Bass are extremely common and will bite about just about anything you throw at it. And it's a rush when you catch one everytime and are good fighter's.

I think it's availability and the pursuit. They're plentiful enough so many can enjoy the fight. Unlike pike, muskie, or other large fish. Bass are around in most local lakes. However, they are still a tough species to figure out. Each day is different and that is what makes it fun.

Hey Debo question man, everytime I try to use a buzz bait it always sinks. It starts going to the top when I’m Already close to reeling it in all the way ...? Any idea what I’m doing wrong ? I use a snap and 20lb braid line.

Heavier line will help keep it up on the surface. You want to be ready and start reeling thr instant it hits the water. Sometimes you'll have to reel very quick at the start so the bait stays on top, then you can slower to the normal speed. Keep your rod tip pointed up in the air too, that will help keep the line up. I think you can use both in similar situations. The buzzbait does better if there is sparse grass. The plopper grabs anything close. The buzzbait is also louder for water with more of a chop.
