Thanks for the info Rod ,and don't forget your flash light at night 😮
@robertkubrick3738Ай бұрын
Mine came in handy once when I was about to enter a corridor that was almost pitch black. I carry probably the smallest 18650 battery light made, the light itself weighs less than the battery. It's only 850 lumens, it lighted that corridor and a few people went scurrying.
@AmazingPhilippines1Ай бұрын
Thanks, and yes, best to carry a flashlight. It has saved me from aggressive dogs a few times at night as it seems to disorient them.
@EdwinCV-dh8qcАй бұрын
@AmazingPhilippines1 I carry a paint stick that I can expand to chase dogs away.Rod I fell off the bed of my truck trying to move a mine freezer But I'm ok thanks to God but I thought I was I bought the farm for a minute 🤕 God is good.

Here in Toledo city area, roosters 🐓🐓🐓🐓 seem to be disappearing..lol. Loud motorcycles are the absolute worst noise pollution here. 🏍️🏍️🏍️🏍️🏍️🏍️🏍️

Some cities enforce the motorbike noise laws but not in Cebu.

Thought it was smog, but that early in the morning it may be sea mist. Are you still having the seasonal monsoonal southwest winds? Has to be at least 78 degrees F for me. Ya Dallas/Fort Worth had an oppressive heat in the summer. Thanks for the video, Rod...Jim
@AmazingPhilippines1Ай бұрын
This is a very unusual year Jim, with many "hazy" days. The SW winds have switched to the NE winds in the last month except when the typhoons mix things up. If I had to live in the USA, I would probably end up in TX. Big state and lots of options.

Clear and blue here in CDO... Little rain last night but over fast.. You get a great view from up there in your tower.. I get coconuts and mango plus a huge bamboo stand.. Very restful.. And your roosters and bikes are much noisier than here... And I am a few kilometers from centre Cagayan de Oro... Mid province... Not much going on here for this poor white guy this weekend,,... Not interested in cemeteries.. Too many rules today.. Enjoy your weekend Rod... Stay chilled... Todays problems wont matter tomorrow..

Thanks Jim. I just took a walk and very little traffic or people out with the holiday. Some cities enforce the noise laws on motorbikes but not very often in Cebu City unfortunately.

Good video Rod. Remember the population growth. Cebu has undoubtedly grown by at least 20% since you first saw it, from births and because people don't want to live in the hinterlands. Wife's family survived the Camarines Sur flooding but parents old house by the river is a write off. Flood damage to half a dozen cars that were completely under water. We didn't lose anyone but I'm told people from the neighborhood were missing. 49 people Including my wife who left safety to shelter with her family were in the house we bought for family just two months ago that we were remodeling. My wife cut her foot when the water was receding because the house downstairs windows had imploded and she stepped on some glass. More than a handful of family members contracted Paddy Foot from walking in the filthy water. Stay out of flood water and take care.

Thanks Robert. I could have rambled on for a couple of hours..but most do not watch that long. Thanks for sharing your experiences. Too sad about the terrible flooding and loss of life and property. Even in "developed" nations, too much rain and it will wash away their water levies and dams. If you live on a mountain you risk landslides. Risks everywhere. Hope all goes well in recover mode.

How many floors up are you Rod? I assume you're looking out at Cebu City from your patio. Thumbs up!

22 floors high Don. Fortunately, the elevators work most of the time. LOL! During the big typhoon Odette 2 1/2 years ago no elevators for a couple of weeks.

For years, I spent time in the Oregon River Valleys during the Summer. Cebu City feels like Summer in Medford or Grants Pass to me.

What part of town do you live in to have that view? Can you recommend your condo? Best Regards and Best Wishes!

City Suites on Ramos Street near Mango. Nice view definitely. Some try to charge extra for the view but have bad furnishings. I looked at 6 places here before I found this one. Worth checking out.

Frequently dust in Africa blows high in the atmosphere, crosses the Atlantic Ocean and blows into Texas creating a haze. That is a long way!

Get yourself some roosters in Vancouver Angel. LOL!
@daddybob6096Ай бұрын
Roosters should be banned in the city, i'm amazed that is allowed by the City Fathers. One would think, tourists would not like that noise when resting at their expensive hotels.
@jsully4064Ай бұрын
@daddybob6096 Heres an idea, don't go there! Most of the time never heard the roosters with the room AC going at night plus the fan, is easy for me to sleep though.
@AmazingPhilippines1Ай бұрын
I think almost everyone owns roosters Bob as cockfighting is a popular sport here. It isn't going to change anytime soon.
