Amir Yazdani, David Baev, Kizhan Clarke, & Soslan Ramonov are the wrestlers performing the move.
Nick Lee, Jaydin Eierman, Logan Stieber & Nurkozha Kaiponov are the wrestlers the move is used against.
Perfect as a 2nd move to a double leg takedown when opponent pulls you up using an underhook. Also works well as a standalone move

One thing about this that you don't note is that they are all driving in a diagonal / towards the underhook side. So for example... when the hand is on the left leg, they all are driving basically directly towards the underhook. If their hips stay on the side of the leg, the opponent can pivot with the underhook for a throw by. These guys are all starting off by driving towards the underhook, then adjusting as need be (like the clip where they finish with a "dump"/ "running the pipe").

I used this to help my youth wrestling team when they are down in a cow-catcher position. If they are stuck on their knees with their chin secured and the underhook, they are taught to elbow down for a stalemate. However, if the opponent has their legs too close in the cow-catcher and there is a lapse in pressure, they can: 1. Grab the opponents leg (outside) on the free arm side. 2. Circle towards that leg and start to posture up, using opponents forward pressure to help them back to their feet. 3. This is where things get dicey. Keep elbowing down on the UH side AND circling towards the leg to keep the angle/head position aimed at the side the opponent has the UH. 4. When you are low on your feet with the leg pulled in, relax your elbow down on the UH and punch the arm over their shoulder to the head. If they don’t score, they will ring their opponents bell with their bicep and be in better position. Successfully fighting back to a stance.

Dude, I have to say you are one of the best presenters and analyzers of technique I have seen. Modern wrestlers are very lucky to have access to your technique analysis. Thank you. And because the opponent is already off balance (or you can make this off balance using the trap hook) it's probably doesn't require insane strength to elevate the leg.

@@earnyourgold those who are successful probably have that innate ability to sense (feel) shifting weight balance and just naturally make the micro leverage adjustments to swing their opponent's body with the trap hook's arc much like say, a Bo Nickal.
@TylerJayWalker
@TylerJayWalker 2 жыл бұрын
I think you need strong grip/forearm power, but it seems that by driving the upper body with the trap hook, the opponent gets offbalance enough that it's not a true "arm vs leg" battle - they're having to keep themselves upright vs motion that's not what they expect coming out of the double. It seems like it's basically turning the corner on a one-armed doubleleg (despite how silly "one-armed double-leg" is as a description) and turning the corner on the double is one of the best ways to finish it and deny the opponent the power of their legs in defending against your arm. Even a traditional double still requires a lot of strength, but it's also the angle change that makes it work instead of being your two arms vs their two legs.

He finally show up with a half eaten hot dog that he stuffed into his mouth as he stepped onto the mat. I think he was still chewing when the ref blew the whistle.
