I WILL SAY THIS ONE MORE TIME: This is not a role reversal, they are not switching parts. Jake is always very insecure and aggressively obsessed with being "cool" and when he does this Amir is often confused and a little scared so he is more reserved than usual but you can still see facets of his character in what he says e.g. "hold on a sec, I'm tryna write down how to be cool but you're talking too fast"
