This band brings everyone together. I have seen concerts but seeing these geniuses perform and every single person regardless of their color or background can sing all the words back to them has got to be one of the most amazing things to experience. I have only seen televised concerts but you can feel the positive energy through the screen. That is the feeling of happiness they give me even in a recorded version of the songs. Very few bands can do that. KC and the Sunshine Band comes close but no one else is EWF. They are in a class all by themselves.

Being a young listener I discovered my instant love for soul and funk music very quickly. Having listened to all the EWF albums they are all special and amazing in their own way but for me Powerlight is an all time favourite of mine!

When the group went dry spell phillip bailey went solo then he came back for recorded electric universe same year maurice produced Jennifer Holliday her first solo album two years later reese recorded his solo album in 1985 self titled album after that group members beside maurice and Phil departure from the group Ralph johnson produced temptations 1984 truly for you with al McKay former ewf guitarist
