absolutely flawless - they had probably performed this song 10,000 times before they recorded this album and yet, they still manage to pour all their heart and energy into it as though it was their first! Best band ever!

Great for sure, but I still put the double live "Gratitude" album as the best live set, as they were at their enormous peak, back in '76. That they are very happening 20 years later (on this album) just speaks to how incredible a band they are, and still playing strong, yet another 20 years from this one!

Just compare "reasons" Live In Velfarre so much better...i like "Gratitude" but there's no comparison

That's what's great about music, it's totally a subjective experience. And while I think the Velfarre version is excellent, & Scott's solo was great, IMHO the Gratitude version goes much deeper, plus, the band was different back then, which was when I first saw them. Don Myrick's solo, the interplay between he & Philip's singing, it was a peak experience. And neither of us will be able to convince the other, as to which version is "better", and I don't even buy into that word. We each have our "favorite" version, because there's no objective way you can argue the merits of one over the other.... beyond how it felt to ourselves. Whatever music touches you deepest, takes you to a better place, is "the best" for each person...
