Maurice, your passing has me in tears... you & the band have been my favorite group since I was a tiny kid -- my parents brought my brother & I to your concert @Oakland Coliseum in the 1970's; Mike & I were only 8 and 10 yrs. old!!! Our whole (extended) family were already big fans, but this was the first arena concert that I ever attended... so it blew my mind on many levels. I'll forever cherish the message & music of Earth, Wind & Fire -- I can't imagine my life with never hearing or being inspired by your magical repertoire... ask any of my friends or fans -- you can hear the musical influence of EWF in my music, no doubt!!! xoxoxoxoxoxox R.I.P. So this double album, the group's first CBS album to *just* go *gold* (if I have my EWF history right), is, to me, the official goodbye to its 70s sound. CBS was screaming for disco and EWF's first answer, I AM's "Boogie Wonderland," was a chart-topping smash. So off to the Caribbean for some in-depth doses of the groove before yielding to musical gravity with the (still good!) "Raise!"

This LP was really the witnessing of their musicianship although guitar player Al McKay became upset because in his own words "Reese had promised me that it would be just us & then he brought in all these other people" Al McKay soon left the group as he was a single parent so he wanted to devote his time as well as raise his child, Roland Bautista soon rejoined the group, in my heart I wished they could have stayed together, they were the best Band in the Land, I saw them live in 1975 at the Nassau coliseum on Strong Island, I saw them again at the no longer exists Seattle Superdome in 1979, they disband in 1983-84, I was heartbroken because I knew that no more new albums were going to be coming but in 1987 they came back with the LP Touch The World, I was delighted, saw them in 1987 at Madison Square Garden, I next saw them next 1994 October 28th, the reason I know this because my daughter was born on the 14th that same month, I have video of my daughter in diapers dancing to Let's Groove, I basically raised my daughter on EarthWind & Fire, took her to see 'em in 1994 these ladies next to us were amazed that my child knew all the word's.🌹

Ceux et celles d' Hier et d' Aujourd' hui (the Young Generation) qui ne connaissent pas Earth ,Wind and Fire n' ont aucune idée de ce qu' est le VRAI TALENT ,le pure talent musical ,celui qui appartient au Domaine du Génie .On est à des Années Lumière de ce qu' on appelle aujourd' hui ,de la "musique" ou de la "chanson" ,que ce soit à apprécier pour l' écoute ou pour vous faire bouger en rhytme .Ici ,on a tout en un seul ,les Vibes ,le Beat ,la pureté et la douceur vocale et la puissance en même temps , de la rhytmique mortelle ,des temps d' arrêt ou de silence et de la relance qui frôlent la Perfection si tant est qu' elle existe et un Sax divin qui nous entraîne vers des sommets de l' Art .ça ,c' est tout ce qu' on adore ,le GENIE MUSICAL incomparable de ce Groupe unique et fabuleux (les Maîtres absolus de la RNB ,jamais égalé par personne) qui a marqué à jamais l' Univers Musical dans le Monde Entier...All KZbinurs ,écoutez-les et vous pourrez faire enfin la différence entre le GENIE ,les Compositions de Qualité (et c' est peu de le dire ,vraiment) avec le "porridge musical" qu' on Nous sert sur les Ondes ,depuis une vingtaine d' Années...
