The way you ask questions, the way you don't make them feel like they are losing, the way you encourage them to find the compassion already present within them, the way you create a safe space for the people to open up and really think is.. Inspiring beyond words. I really wish to become like you someday so I can educate better. You are my idol, you are my role model. :") Ed, thank you for existing and being who you are. @@MauriceTarantulas most of the times, on topics like these when people's morals are in question, they'll see the talk as a competition in which you have to prove the other person incorrect or you lose. It's damage control. His critics said that he's skinny, so he's working out now to show he's not. They said that he wears really thick clothing (even in not-so-cold weather), so he took his coat off now. Someone exposed his real name on KZbin (i.e., Edward Gaunt), which was kept secret, and now it's not anymore. He's a snake-oil salesman; an actor, who discreetly keeps on adjusting his image to avoid suspicion/exposure and to carry out his propaganda as efficiently as he can.

I remember simply typing ”vegan” into youtube because i wanted to explore the arguments and see if there was anything to it. I’d watched cowspiracy about a year before and went vegetarian afterwards, but you know.. cheese... I watched what the health also after a couple of months of being vegetarian and i was like ”dude, maybe the cheese isn’t worth it”. A lot of what they said just stuck in my head and changed my mindset after a while! ”Milk is baby cow growth fluid” and ”eggs are made to run a baby chick for 21 days”, ”cheese is coagulated cow pus” 🤮 and so one day i felt inspired and just went on youtube and found one of your videos where you were speaking in a lecture hall. it just hit home to me! I knew what i needed to do💚 so over the next couple of weeks as a baby vegan I watched like EVERYTHING out there: earthlings, dominion, your documentary land of hope and Glory, lucent, some swedish docs, from farm to fridge, forks over knives, cowspiracy (again) etc. I also binge watched both yours and Joeys channels (and some food channels for inspiration). Hands down, going vegan is best desicion I ever made! It is like i put on a pair of glasses and now i see the truth! I could never go back. Animal products are pure violence and exploitation 💔 love your channel btw, it teaches us all great ways to talk to others about veganism! Thank you!!

Do you have friends that are still eating meat? giving you their reasons like they have to for health? I have compassion for them and love, but if I dont have proper self care in the morning I am super triggered, Their ignorance and lack of love for animals (unconciousLY) Really is starting to way me down. excuses hurt my heart, Like That hurt is me wishing I can speak FOR the animals, do you run into that struggle with friends and or family?

Those documentaries really opened my eyes too, especially when organisations actively turned a blind eye to studies and recent findings all in the name of profit. I've been fully vegan for 3 months now and I've never felt better my body is functioning how it should when it didn't before. While fruits, vegetables and vegan options in general, are available, I will remain vegan. There is no need or reason for me to consume animal products and therefore I won't. Like Ed says, it all comes down to necessity.

Same goes for religious and political stuff. You know? The good people are there in every group, and they're probably the majority or close to it. Just gotta weed through em. 2. Well, yeah, I know I could google it. My point was that you're the one who made the claim, so it's on you to substantiate it, not me. 3. You're asking me to give you evidence that dairy is bad for your health. I never even mentioned the word dairy and am not sure how it became a focal point. I never said dairy was unhealthy, and frankly, I couldn't care less; health concerns aren't the reason I don't consume dairy products. 4. Maybe that's another distinction people need to know about (this is referencing #1 and #3): yes, there are crazed vegans who are going to try to prove to you with no real facts how poisonous a meat and dairy diet is, etc etc etc, just as there are meat and dairy eaters who hell-bent on trying to convince you, again, factlessly, how ill and weak and crumpled in a ball vegans are or will be soon. Those are the health-focused ones. And from that angle, you're right -- there are not long-term studies about the health of veganism, so it's not proven that it's beneficial. But it's also not proven that it's harmful, and it also doesn't explain all the people in hospitals right now -- are they all vegans, since we're the ones who have such poor health? Makes you wonder. But I digress. Then there are people like me. I've always been a healthy eater all my life -- when I was a meat and dairy eater, as a vegetarian, and now as a vegan. So I'm not worried about that aspect. At all. My sole motivation for eliminating animal products from my diet is about my relationship to nature. It's very personal. And there are a lot of people out there like me. We are on a huge spectrum, please understand that. We're not all assholes, we're not all interested in debating 24/7. We just don't want to eat animal stuff.

"There's an idiot for every product", I'm not trying to tie this in with eating meat but as someone who works in a supermarket this statement is so true, people will find a place for any amount of shit in their lives.

If you see Injustice being done you need to speak up and say something. People can say all they want that don't push your stuff on them but when it is something that is seriously horrific you have to open your mouth and not care what other people think. Just imagine if Jesus did not spread his gospel how many people would not even make it to heaven.

@Awaken what makes someone "masculine" ?
@RaieFutee
@RaieFutee 5 жыл бұрын
@Awaken do you think that the "nature"argument is really relevant ? I mean rape, incest, murder, pedophilia, necrophilia,... are natural behaviors, but they aren't considered as moral. And at the opposite, books, medicines, clothes, school, apartment,... aren't "natural", but they aren't "negative" things. So the question isn't "is it natural ?" but "Is it moral (to exploit and kill other sentient beings when it's not a necessity) ?"

The woman in the white jacket! She worked so hard to justify continuing to do something that she clearly understands to be unjustifiable. I have never seen a clearer example of cognitive dissonance.

papparocket how can you bash someone who is clearly intelligent and open minded, who had no previous knowledge that she would be questioned on veganism, yet still had a conversation to the best of her ability even if she didn’t know as much and could have been set up to look like a fool by someone who is obviously more knowledgeable on the subject. There is no right or wrong, no matter how you play it out to be, so the fact that you try to put those who don’t choose your lifestyle down is pathetic and ignorant. You give other sane vegans a bad name. That lady is well spoken, intelligent, and probably more compassionate than you.

@@AlbanianRS I'm sorry if I came across as bashing her. That was not my intent. Everybody has cognitive dissonances. Often they are subtle. All I was trying to say is that this lady understood and clearly elicited the ethical issues with consuming animals for food, yet at the same time offered up nearly all of the standard rationalizations necessary for her to ignore those issues in her personal life in order for her to continue to consume animal flesh and excretions. Each of Ed's videos is a master's class in the use of the Socratic Method to help people articulate explicitly what they already know, if only peripherally or unconsciously, with regard to the ethics of eating sentient beings for taste/pleasure/habit/culture/etc. But humans are great at rationalizing their actions and so struggle to deny to themselves the truth of the words that just came out of their own mouths. That is cognitive dissonance. All I was saying is that such dissonance is seldom as clear as it is in this case. And since she was so clear and articulate about the ethical issues surrounding the consumption of animals, I think it quite likely that she will reflect further on what she said to Ed and her high intelligence will require her to fully integrate her personal morals with her actions and she will eventually become vegan.

I saw the video of the farmer that you spoke to who had been farming for 50 years. He never heard an argument like yours. He looked perplexed. In two minutes of taking to him you changed what he had been thinking about for his whole life. You are changing lives. Keep it up. Stay focused on the difference you are making and remember even people who are repelled by you, just remember you are planting seeds.
