And burned some ancestor money. Regarding offerings- I always have a glass of water- I put some cigars/smokes on from time to time, food wise I keep it to items that take a bit longer to go bad. My grandma and I used to eat avocados together ALL the time. So I put the seeds on it sometimes. Food wise I try not to do like full on meals unless I can really sit and watch it cause you know- fur babies LOL. Coffee is a MUST- and wine from time to time. You'll knoe what to put, or they'll let you know REAL QUICK. Thanks for sharing such a personal sacred space with us. Bless you and your ancestors 💓 Loved this video! 💓💓💓

Oooh! Your baby is going to be so blessed! Love the beads on your selenite, palpable energy 💖 the rose of Jericho is also a brilliant touch, it could be a great visual reminder of when to tend to the altar again as the water evaporates. Absolutely beautiful. Thank you for sharing! Also a fun note on offering food, I always thought that was kind of weird to me. I could respect that others did it, but I thought it was being a little..."extra"? I had a dream given to me that gave me a new found respect for it though. I was the ancestor in this dream and I felt myself being called and awoken, my spirit was pulled through a gray tunnel, which I interpret as descending dimensions. When I arrived I felt very groggy and disoriented, it was almost uncomfortable adjusting to my spirit being in this level of reality again. Then I saw the woman leading this ceremony which called me in, she had tropical flowers and fresh cut pineapple laid out beautifully on a bed of banana leaves, waving an incense of some sort and inviting me in. At that moment I recognized my family member (who now is only child) among other women who were also waiting for their ancestors to arrive. I can't tell you how please I was to see that offering, it's like being suddenly awoken from a good dream, but then the "offender" brings out a fresh cup of coffee and breakfast in bed. I felt immediately grounded, appreciated, and even pleasantly surprised. I will never look at food offerings the same!

Saying this humbly, ancestral altars or any deity altars should never be in the bedroom. 2 reasons: 1 you'll constantly be disturbed in your sleep bc they will want your attention constantly , 2 its disrespectful to the spirit or ancestors bc the bedroom is a place of dressing & intimacy which is something you wouldn't do in front of them when they were living. 🤗

Peace beautiful being. Thank you for sharing your altar. I remember when I started my altar, man I had a backlash from granmother and aunt( I live at home). I set it up, started with only 3 elements (air fire earth). When I burnt sage everyday that's when they started complaining as they realised that I was calling upon the ancestors. They asked me if I am training to become a sangoma(traditional healer in South Africa). My cousins asked if I was even calling the right ancestors. Ofcos I was, I did my research from my grandfather. I decided to dismantle it and continued praying/meditating without it until 2018 when I was called to actually set it up again. But this time talk to my ancestors and let em know of the minimalistic altar I was about to set up, I asked them if it was okay and that I cannot offer food since I am still living under families roof and I'll do so when I have my own place. They accepted the terms and i offer to them by caring for my child and dancing and buying them gifts. I have all 4 elements on my altar this time around and I burn other incense & not too long so the scent doesn't fill the whole house. I am looking forward to manifesting my 2 bedroom, 1 bath cottage house so I can express myself freely. Namaste

The more you research Christianity and their holidays the more you realize that they stole from pagan holidays. We as humans never had religion. We all had ancestral wisdom. @@dinarobert3463 Altars aren't dangerous or evil. If this were the case then altars wouldn't be in churches. But they are in churches. The Catholic Church has statues of Jesus, Virgin Mary and Saints that they pray to. The Catholic Church burns incense. The Jews burned incense in the Temple to worship their God and the Bible talks about burning incense as a sacrifice to God. The Bible and Church teach us "to call those things that are not as though they are" and to "have Faith and Believe" a common concept amongst those who practice manifestation. The Bible talks about meditating on the Lord but churches preach that meditation in yoga is "bad." The Bible talks about how if you don't Praise God then the rocks and trees will Praise God for you but if we say everything on this Earth has an energy and if you use crystals then it's evil. I could go on and on but you see my point. "Christianity" is no different than paganism but has done it's job to make people believe that it and monotheism are the only way. Christianity is just a Holy version of paganism.

it's fine. I also like essential oils and a good relaxing bath. It's like spa... you mean? Which refreshes, relaxes the muscles to feel lighter. BUT YES. MY BODY IS MYYYY TEMPLEEEE.

I completely believe that our ancestors are with us. When I had my youngest daughter I had a c section which was my second one and it took longer because of scar tissue and I Kidd you not my grandma and great grandma was there and my dad I seen them standing behind the dr and nurses then in my room when I was coming out of recovery they were standing over my daughter. She has 2 birthmarks one between her eyebrows and one on the back of her neck the nurse said it means they have been kissed by angels.

i'm a pagan witch (and btw witchcraft isn't evil) and i have an altar too, which is very important to me. I use it as a workspace for my practice and i also keep things that represent the elements, my deity, my ancestors and anything that i want to focus on at that time or just things that put me into a spiritual mindset like plants or things i found in nature. i give offerings to my ancestors and my deity as well, mostly food or sometimes liquor, cigarettes, a specific inscense they like etc. i also meditate and journal there and keep all my most used spiritual and witchcraft related items there and it's a sort of save space for me :)

Thank you so much for sharing your altar Veladya. It is simply beautiful, just like your essence. I personally leave a glass of wine on my altar for my ancestors and spirit guides. Ever since I have been presenting offerings I feel the presence of my spirit family more prominently.

I've been watching as many videos as I can when it comes to making my altar at home, and this video was by far the best! I have pictures of my ancestors that I would like to represent on my altar too. The only thing that I'm nervous about is using incense as my "air," element and that's because it tends to bother my sinuses. However, I'm sure I'll make it work. I think I'm either going to use my main dresser where there's a lot of space for me to work on or it might have to be on my nightstand. Haven't figured it out yet, but I'm sure I will. Thank you for sharing this video with us.

Glad you made the disclaimer for all the religious people out there. There is more than one way to the Source or Power, than what "religious people" and the indoctrinations they preach or enforce on others. Thank you. I too was raised with certain religious beliefs, but I am definitely open to the concept of alters even though I have never had one. Thank you.

The first time I was introduced to alters was in my catholic abuelas home. Now, most people are gonna read catholic and think I mean she was strict or mean or very traditional, etc, but it was the opposite, the definition of human kindness and love. Her alter was a prayer alter where she had past family members and pictures of alive family members and she would stand there and pray over everyone everyday. I know if I have anyone watching me from the other side it's her! I love this video! RIP Nena

Beautiful job! , I just want to mention as an Espiritista we work the "boveda" or "mesa blanca", its important to have a full glass of cool water on the ancestor altar for clarity & elevation (we have 7 glasses or more depending) And moving foward changing it once a week, tossing the old water outside back into the earth. 🙏🏼🥰 blessings
