I already had those plates in my shopping cart but seeing them in a video solidified that I had to have them as mine

The green-brown combination you got on the two plates is very nice indeed and deserves to be retained and used! The crystalline growth in the brown compliments the green nicely! I always had my students test both ways: A over B and B over A. Have you tried this combination with the green glaze under the brown? It is usually a different look - sometimes great, sometimes not so great - but from the same two glazes.

Also before you tell me what it is, my guess is Firebrick Red Glaze. Now to see if I got my Potter's Points. Edit: Dang it I was wrong.

The last 2 are fantastic!!!! Do you ever test Spectrum glazes?
@Elleffe4 жыл бұрын
I may be in the minority but I think the colour would have come out better on the porcelain if you applied it a bit thicker. This glaze is developed as brush on, so I feel one pour doesn’t truly reflect the same thickness that three generous brush on coats would bring
@EarthNationCeramics4 жыл бұрын
I sorta agree with you, but also, you should watch the last glaze review we did on ancient Jasper ;)
@Elleffe4 жыл бұрын
Earth Nation Ceramics I love all your reviews but I must have missed that one. Let me go have a look! Also side note: i think it’s a little crazy that we need to pile on a glaze so much to make it look properly. They are not cheap!!

Emerald Falls is one of my favs. I think it needs to go on a bit thinner. However, whenever I’ve used it I’ve noticed the color lighter than the bottle. 🤷🏼♀️

Aren’t these primarily meant to be brushed on opposed to pouring or dipping?

Thanks for the glaze test, totally agree emerald falls is more like a celadon green. What happened to the cup you glazed with the wax resist?

Love the pouring but what about additional layers? I keep hearing about more layers, more layers, more layers!
@EarthNationCeramics2 жыл бұрын
People often layer these glazes for a run effect or a combination. A lot of people will often mix these two or layer them in order to find the combinations. The company even has a lot of them written down because they've done some experimentation themselves.

i put mine on thicker, and it needs the texture to hold on too

Hi. Why do you not show the glazes on stoneware or earthenware pots?
@EarthNationCeramics4 жыл бұрын
Because most people use B- mix for porcelain for production work. Although I do use stoneware and grog clay

Curious about your thoughts on the pinholes. Do you consider those sellable quality?

I agree with the first comment that emerald falls need more thickness to achieve that darkness and variation. Also if you don’t already, try a hold with your bisque maybe 30-35 min to cut down on your bloating wit dark clay.
