Timeless song ! I’m 67 , with cancer barely have enough energy to cook dinner and here I am dancing . I’m lying in bed though ….. dancing ! 😂😂😂 Update: 2-14-23 6 months of Chemotherapy failed. Then immunotherapy and CAR-T . Completed CAR-T February 7. Successful!! 🙏🙏 Complete remission. 🙏🙏🙏 Although I can dance on my feet again,, life is still walking on thin ice! ….not knowing if and when the cancer reawakens.

I was recently married, and the DJ played this after the reception. I had never seen 800 people run onto the dancefloor so quickly, even disabled people; the whole place was on fire. I wasn't around when this was made, as I wasn't born until 1995, but I love it, and so do my twin baby boys.

It’s still there. A lot of people forget that while this song was big, along with others, the majority of music played on the radio was forgettable pop songs. Same thing happens every decade. Some great music that runs in niche circles, and generic trash. Classic example led zeppelin. Incredible music. They were not mainstream. They were popular, but except for a few tracks, their general public exposure was limited. There’s some incredible positive music still made today, both electronic and traditional, but you have to dig a little bit for it. A fantastic radio station in Australia. Kiss dance, very low level radio station dedicated Sunday afternoon from about 1pm to about 4-5 pm to “happy radio” hosted by a disabled individual. Usually just great upbeat music. Both modern and retro. There’s an app for this radio station too so you can listen anywhere you want online.

@@elyastoohey6621 I'm referring to the overall climate that music projected. There seemed to be more of a collective vibe to music whereas nowadays a lot of "pop" songs are more or less part of a marketing package, or branding tool for the artist. There's too much of an emphasis on brand self aggrandizement. I mainly listen to atmospheric "dream" pop these days because creativity and originality still flourishes in that scene. The upside of social media venues like youtube is the ability to give super talented artists who are relatively unknown a venue to express their art.
@ChrisDulin

It's just a pop song. There are plenty of pop songs that give this vibe, your perspective is skewed. This is no different than "Down" by Jay Sean; I like to dance, I'm looking for romance, let's do it.

Hell Dorado It's still hear in us, as long as we keep playing thoses CD'S hearing them on our phone's, sharing them on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram etc. Everyone will keep hearing our, there music and maybe some of the other singers might sing them now a day's, as long as they sing them with that same passion and not changing the way we fell in love with this music. I hear them almost every day and I hear my neighbors singing the song's with me. We have to keep them alive. Will that's the way I feel when I put my music. I have a lot of collection of our beautiful music. God bless you and your family always keep safe.

This genre has definitely gotten a resurgence in popularity, with artists like Dia Lupa, The Weeknd & Anderson .Paak releasing material that heavily draws from 70s-era soul, r&b, disco and pop music. It makes me happy to see younger people digging on sounds like that, because it’s a golden tone indeed. I can only imagine what it would’ve been like to grow up in this era.

Hey Tom, you summed it up perfectly! M. White WAS MAGNIFICENT. He was beyond exceptional. He was the nucleus of EWF. Certainly in the top 10 of the greatest songwriters, arrangers, and producers of our time. I don't think people actually realized the profound impact that EWF music had on American and Global Culture from Europe to Africa in the 1970's thru the early 80's. There music was and still is Fire! It brought unity across all races, ethnicities, and cultures. Not every artist or group can make that claim to fame. EWF music was a Movement, thanks to Maurice.

This song is fascinating when you really put your ear to it. The rhythm carries the melody throughout the entire song. Yet it's never repetitive or overbearing. There's a lot going on within the instrumentation as well as the vocal performances in every section of the song. No part is exactly the same. Everything in this song just seems to totally click. Great composition and recording. It's a masterpiece of our culture.
@kieronjohnson8834
@kieronjohnson8834 2 жыл бұрын
I completely agree, it has a stupendous arrangement- that staccato horn intro and the little call and response motif supported by the soaring strings all in the first few bars is breathtaking. It really should be a bombastic train wreck, but the genius of White and Bailey and the rest of the boys along with The Emotions has made it a masterpiece. I couldn't see anyone other than EWF having the musical ability and the balls to pull this off. Only Abba's 'Dancing Queen' comes close in terms of concept and execution.

For this Mexican woman they are my heroes. I remember going through my divorce. Had to move into a single apartment with my 7 yo girl and had. It was empty and with barely any food. Had to pay the rent first. Every time I felt like just crying and giving up this song will come up on the only radio I had in my kitchen. Suddenly MAGIC!!✨🌟🎉 and when I felt like showing up broken for my baby I just started dancing. Crying and dancing and gave her a big hug and from then on we just started dancing together to all of these songs from Earth Wind and Fire. I've always liked them but on those days just started loving them!!! She's 12 now! Way into metal rock haha, but she will groove to these songs with me haha!! Bless them forever!! My heroes!! Dance, boogie wonderland Dance, boogie wonderland Midnight creeps so slowly into hearts Of men who need more than they get Daylight deals a bad hand To a woman who has laid too many bets The mirror stares you in the face and says "Baby, uh uh, it don't work" You say your prayers, though you don't care You dance and shake the hurt Dance, boogie wonderland Dance, boogie wonderland Sound fly through the night I chase my vinyl dreams to boogie wonderland (I find romance when I start to dance in boogie wonderland I find romance when I start to dance in boogie wonderland) (All the love in the world can't be gone) (All the need to be loved can't be wrong) (All the records are playing) (And my heart keeps saying) (Boogie wonderland, wonderland) Dance, boogie wonderland Dance, boogie wonderland (I find romance when I start to dance in boogie wonderland) (I find romance when I start to dance in boogie wonderland) Dance, boogie wonderland Dance, boogie wonderland (Hm-hm-hm-hm, hm-hm-hm-hm, hm-hm-hm-hm, wonderland) (Hm-hm-hm-hm, hm-hm-hm-hm, hm-hm-hm-hm, wonderland) Hm-hm-hm-hm, hm-hm-hm-hm, hm-hm-hm-hm) (All the love in the world can't be gone All the need to be loved can't be wrong All the records are playing And my heart keeps saying Boogie wonderland, wonderland) Dance, boogie wonderland Dance, boogie wonderland (I find romance when I start to dance in boogie wonderland I find romance when I start to dance in boogie wonderland) Dance, boogie wonderland Dance, boogie wonderland

Well, for those of you who have never had a chance to see them live in concert, I just saw them with Lionel Richie. To get to see either of the acts in 2024, was pure joy!! They are incredible so I highly recommend you see them while you can. Philip Bailey is absolutely incredible and hasn't lost a thing where his vocals are concerned. He, along with others, are in their 70s so see them while you can. Knoxville was the first leg of the tour and the place was rocking! Go see them! It's worth every penny!!

One of the best bands ever ... They were simply ahead of the pack in what they offered which spanned the genres of Jazz, R&B, Soul, Funk, Disco, Pop, Latin, and Afro Pop. What was great was how the band fused its Kalimba sound, dynamic horn section, energetic and elaborate stage shows. Their costumes would sometimes pay homage to the 70's with its Afri-American style and the outlandish Sci-Fi flair resulting of the flood of space movies. Unforgettable is the contrast between Bailey's falsetto and Maurice's baritone. What a band ... 💖

They all did meditation all on a natural high. I've been backstage a couple of times when I was in college in the 70's when they did alot of college tours back then. Iwould show them the backstage dressing rooms, the warmup rooms and interact with the group. That was the best times for me other than being a musician and a student.

Its amazing how songs can bring us all together. I'm in my mid twenties and sometimes I'm a little sad that we lose good music. I guess we traded music for technology so we can't always have all we want. Have a blessed year ahead everyone!
