I am planning on making a baby blanket for a friend of my son’s. I have been making swatches of many different types of blankets. Today I took them for mom to be to pick one and she immediately chose this one. Yarn is ordered and I will begin when it arrives. Hi there! You can make a small sample like I did by making any number of starting chains in multiples of 6 + 2, which means to take any number that is a multiple of 6 and then add 2 to that number. So for example 18 + 2 = 20 or 24 + 2 = 26. Hope this helps.
