holy crap I never knew that, thats cool. the flasher is flashing bc of a literal, physically moving automatic switch, so to speak. Thanks, loving this electrical series!! p.s. your presentation and explanation is very good. Thank you!!

Its pretty funny how simple some of these systems are 😂

Hello! Great video. Was wondering if youd have any idea about some rear turn signals only working if tail lights are off. If i turn the tail lights on, the light stops flashing. I feel like its something stupid that im missing. Thank you for your help.

Some flasher relays have 3 or even 6 pins. What are they for?
@NightWrencher11 ай бұрын
3 pin flashers have an extra leg for ground. That lets them stabalize the blink, regardless of the load. For example, if one of your lights blinks fast, it means your light is out so you can swap a 3 prong flasher in to return the blinking to normal speed

6 pin flashers are use to add an addition circuit to the flasher system

Tutorial for adding ignition or starter relays?

@@zuranku I'm litterally working on it right now 👍

@@NightWrencher That's awesome. There are some cars I've worked on from the 90s and 80s that relied on thin wiring and minimal relays so that can be a headache to deal with sometimes.
@NightWrencher5 ай бұрын
@zuranku i went through that with my 91 toyota pick up. The voltage would drop too much when it was warm and the starter wouldnt work. Eventually added in a relay and all my problems went away. Have never had a bad experience when adding a relay

@@NightWrencher That's I would love to do with the ignition and the headlights. The headlights are powered directly from the instrument cluster switch so those contact points are known to build up carbon over the years. Brighter lights and less voltage drop sounds like a win win

@zuranku thats exactly what I did with my 75 w100 😂 high beams and low beams were on their own relays and I had the low beams set up as DRLs
