Love it. Super simple structure. I am building my daughter in law an 8x12 shed next spring using post structure.

That is a brilliant door Jeff. Thanks mate. Also good to see you are like me and use a small battery on your impact. Everyone I see likes to carry around a 6ah on theirs. Crazy.

I like the door and I like even more the moment at 27:07 (or 9 mins before the end). That's the perfect explanation of what the "Brushless IMPACT driver " meaning is, thanks Jeff!

Thanks for info about Peak Gate hardware. I would not want gaps on my door. That could be done with no gaps.

That latch scares me a little, I can see it blowing locked while I'm inside

Don't forget there's the hook and latch outside the door holding it. You could also drop the latch down so that the door would hit it, rather than close and lock you in.

@@Tonyroseauthor What if you forget to "hook and latch?" You might say, "I won't be long. Just gonna grab something in there."

Then you can either use the hook to keep the door open or, just keep the latch part down so it can't fully close. That type of latch is fairly common in many industries.

Love Jeff’s work and content, however I can attest to using that particular gate kit- the steel is not very strong and when screwing my 2x4’s in, it was thrown out of square. Just build everything out of wood instead of using the Home Depot special gate kit….ive seen a couple more of those used in places and the gates are all out of whack after a few heavy winds

Door latch hardware it's kind of pointless if you can get to the screws to unscrew it then no reason to lock it LOL just saying. But I love the rest of it and that door kit is awesome

Looks very nice! Did you mean to leave screws off of the door board beside the door handle?

i made a crappy door for my first ever DIY shed and it's still square 5 winters later. though it is made from 2x3 + LP Smart Panel and painted 1x3 trim.

It looks nice, but I think I'd go for a latch system that works from both sides in case the wind does blow the door shut and it latches and I'm not sitting in there trying to find something to shimmy in the gap to flip it open.

If the latch screws on from the outside can’t someone just unscrew it to get inside.

One could incorporate a fly-screen into the door to maintain some ventilation.

I think I put in too long a ramp. I came out to my shed the other morning and K.I.T.T. was inside waiting for an upgrade. In all seriousness that is a pretty clever design for a durable gate that can go as wide as 60". I was looking at building a fenced area between the house and shop for the dog and wanted a gate on each side that was not going to fall apart after a year in Iowa weather. Kudos to the designer!

Surely you would have wanted the small set screw on the bottom of the handle to be tightened from the bottom and not the top... so that water doesn't sit in that opening.

If I have to bend over for a 1/2 second to latch the door so I don’t have the eye in the middle of the door I’m okay with that.
