the best way to do the ability kills part is set the console date back 2 years and go to restorative mind , grab the relic and use it to kill all enemys in the first area exept one of the captain near the gate , then let him kill you and repeat till done , the relic give you 80% ability recharge time or something like that , so you can do the quest in about 20-30 min if you are fast , i did it with my titan as defender for the dark drinker

you forgot to mention do the sword quests on the same character because once you have 1 exotic sword it will skip to the part where you have to collect planetary material for other swords which is way faster.

For those interested in knowing he forgot to mention that after you complete your first sword quest you can go buy any of the other two on the same character and it will skip the majors and crucible quest. It will go straight to the farming part of it saves a lot of time. Also the warlock is best for doing all three burn swords

You should also note that you can do multiple swords on the same character at the same time. it can be a hassle on some parts but its easier than grinding through the whole thing three times. The longest part is farming because you still have to go to each planet and the hardest part is getting those knights low and dodging them and the main boss at the same tims but its doable if you have a good team

I've got a few friends who never did their swords last year, so the trick with farming the materials will be greatly appreciated if I can ever get them to do the crucible kills. As a side note, the hunter's throwing knife does count if you add the ignite ability to it, but only if the fire burn actually kills the enemy.

A better one to grab the rare materials is equip a ghost with the node perk that tracks nearby nodes, and when you go to patrol, aim down the sights of a long range sniper, and you will be able to see all of the nodes in the area. After clearing the area, go to the next area nearby, and repeat the process. Then, after clearing the second area, go back to the first one, and there should be new nodes waiting for you. This is a very long process. You obtain 1 rare material out of every 10-15 nodes. This process took me about 1 hour on my own

The Raze Lighter (solar) is amazing for single-target damage, the Dark-Drinker is amazing on Aksis and groups of enemies and the Bolt Caster has ranged capabilities. Raze Lighter can do insane damage on Aksis if you hit all of your uppercuts.
