@@hyp3dw4ter6 I got the A+ a few years back, then went for interviews. I also got an voluntary IT position to improve my CV where I learned so much about helpdesk management and took part in a few mini projects. The reason for the A+ certification is to have some general knowledge of IT, especially when you are asked technical quesions. You will also have something tangible to show your potential employers. Real-life experience will always surpass certifications. Look for any voluntary IT positions, even if it is once a week, to build up some experience and have something on your CV or resume. And when you are there, ask what questions they would ask in an interview and what the ideal answers are. Go for as many interviews as you can. Even if you fail, your confidence will grow and you will learn what kinds of questions will be asked.

Thank you very much for the interesting AD video. I have one comment about the service account. Microsoft recommends using Group Managed Service Accounts (gMSA). These have the advantage that the password is managed by Windows and is quite long and you can define the rhythm in which the password should be changed. There are two problems with an AD account as a service user: 1. the password for an AD account is rather insecure (usually only a few characters long). 2. if the password of the AD account is changed, the password must be changed everywhere where the AD account is used as a service user. This is not necessary with a gMSA. Thank you and have a wonderful weekend.

Hello Charmer, I ask you what would be better when we have an offloading? Inside the company's domain it would be better to delete the user or simply deactivate it after migrating all groups permissions for the new upcoming onboarding staff?. I think this would depend on the policies and the type of company. Thanks.
@EastCharmer3 ай бұрын
Hello! That's a great question, I would say it depends on your company policy but I can tell you what we do in my current workplace. When we offboard, we disable the accounts for a period of time like 1-2 years because sometimes we have interns or contractors that could come back in a few months to work again and deactivating is easier than making new accounts. And like you mentioned, sometimes we retain them for new staff permissions. Then we do our audit every 2 years to decide if we wanna delete or keep the accounts

one question : do you think one should have a solid understanding of a ticketing system to land an IT SUPPORT job ... if so, which one is used in the industry .....
@EastCharmer5 ай бұрын
Atleast familiarity on how it works and how to manage tickets. Usually you'll get trained at work because companies have different policies and SLAs for tickets. Just knoe best practices like you should assign the ticket to yourself if you're working on it. Respond to the requestor that you acknowledge the ticket. Tickets are also used for documentation purposes so for new issues, you should document the resolution for future references. The most popular ones are service now, jira and fresh service.

After rebooting, add the computer back to the domain 3. After another reboot the error should be ficed now and don't forget to move it back to the appropriate OU because when you "un-doamin" a machine and re-add, it moves it to the generic "Computers" container

Concept of security principles, inheritance, ACLs in Microsoft. 4. Services related to active directory. 5. How the server and client interacts and the underlying networking Concept of it. 6. A brief about ntds.dit and sysvol. 7. Concept of name resolution and WINS + DNS. THERE ARE LOT MORE LEFT... My sugession is - Check the active directory global exam prep book released by Microsoft, Books written by MARK MINASI & AD COOKBOOK. This is entirely my personal openion. You can check it or drop it...
