I’m 17, and am turning 18 on Wednesday. Even though my parents disapprove- vehemently, I might add- I will finally be baptized and confirmed on the Easter Vigil in the extraordinary form. Keith, your videos are amazing! I want to share them with my parents. Hopefully God will use your work to bring them back to the One True Faith.

Lol, A friend of mine had a pastor who called the people who only came on those two holy days “CEOs” as in Christmas and Easter Only. I also love the Easter vigil as a convert. You’re so right about it including the whole story of salvation! I agree, I don’t care how long it is ❤️ its beautiful. I’ve loved the series! As a convert one of the unexpectedly beautiful things to me has been praying the Stations of the Cross during Lent. Gets me every time.

Easter Vigil, is such a powerful mass. As I was in RCIA I kept thinking, " I don't know about this whole Eucharist thing being the real deal." But since I intellecually believed, because i read about it in the bible and I emotionally wanted to be a part of the church, I decided to trust what I was told by people that I admired. I didn't know what to expect of the vigil i just showed up because I was told that I was going to be baptized (assuming it would be much like baptisms that I had seen of babies in the past".). It was sooo much more. When i recieved the Eucharist for the first time it was the FIRST time in my life I felt the spirit PHYSICALY A warmth came over me, I felt light headed and began to cry uncontrollably. In that moment I realized that the Eucharist really IS the BODY of Christ and i will recieve him every chance I get. I will never miss an Easter Vigil it is my favorite mass of the year.

One of the things I love about being Catholic is the ability to contextualize and utilize suffering, hardship, adversity, etc in a worshipful way. In reparation. As penance. For the Church Penitent. For the needs of others. I love being part of the Church Militant, a soldier for Christ. I love His mother, Mary and am grateful for her prayers. I love the rich, deep, indestructible tapestry that is our Faith....

I agree with you 100%! Every part of the vigil is replete with meaning, from the lighting of the candle, the readings, the blessing of water, renewal of baptismal vows, the litany of the saints, the blessing of the laity and the mass itself. After the ceremonies done in the dark, the church lights up at the appointed time and the choir sings in exultation... Christ is risen! My heart fills up with joy!

I'm a cradle catholic, but I truly became one recently. I love the catholic church becoz of its richness in all things spiritual. The sacraments, the Holy Eucharist, adoration of the blessed Sacrament, the holy priesthood, the holy rosary, the stations of the cross prayer - I love the stations of the cross. We remember n accompany Jesus of his way to the cross. Try to feel his sufferings and by way of it learn to carry our own crosses. All the saints n angels too - they teach us what does it mean to truly love of our Lord n obey Him. I love all d saints.... just love them.

Amen Thank you for being a voice for Catholics fresh from the Protestant experience. The First time I went to an Easter Vigil I was speechless. I remember thinking to myself, do people know about this??? This is an off the charts and incredible Christian experience straight from the early church. I loved every minute of it actually every hour of it. You are drawing the contrast between the Protestant and Catholic expression of faith. thank you. And yes, when people say to me the Mass is not scriptural. Hmm I think to myself either they haven't read the Bible or they have never attended Mass let along an Easter Vigil : The entire Mass is Scripture!! Amen Brother. Keep sharing your experience. You are voicing my sentiments exactly. Christ wanted one Faith, One Church. Google search "Who founded the Catholic Church" ... Google will tell you "Jesus Christ.!!" amen Blessings Sally

I love the part of the easter vigil are the procession of candles when each time "light of christ" is mentioned and the renewal of our baptism vow after the cathechumen baptism. I would like to introduce you to the traditional liturgical calender of the latin mass. There is no ordinary time in it, it goes straight into another season after the end of one. There are 3 days of fasting and prayers called ember days, in the intermediate week from one season to the other.

For me it is the fact that the church is very good at taking us back in time. When I came back 3 years ago, I went to church on Good Friday and they did all the readings leading to the crucifixión and after the reading they had a cross covered so As they ring the bell, the deacon uncovered one side and you could see the nails going through one hand, he proceeded to uncover the other hand and than he uncovered the body and it just looked so real. I felt like I was there 2000 years ago witnessing the crucifixión of our Lord. It hit me like wow, his sacrifice was so brutal yet so beautiful. Everyone at that moment was quietly staring probably feeling like me. Praise to you Lord Jesus Christ.

@tony brother, you are speaking to a man who has studied every major religion and their writings, I've read the Koran, studied Buddah and hindu faiths, I've read Calvin Zwingli and Luther, I've studied the history of the Church along with the prevailing philosophical schools of 5he times and there is no doubt on earth that the Catholic Church is the incarnation of Jesus Christ. Now is there wolves within His Church ABSOLUTELY!!! Just like Jesus had Judas, their will always be sinners and demons trying to tear her apart. But I have faith that the boat I am in while being knocked around while Jesus rests is the boat that will lead me to the shores of heaven. Why because he has not abandoned His church and he has given us a spiritual and physical means by which to be filled with His grace. The sacraments. I love you too brother.
@minorityvoice9253

@tony the problem with your interpretation is that you exclude massive portions of scripture. I have been studying scripture and ALL opposing views for a decade now, and every argument falls. I wanted to know the Truth like you and I appreciate your zeal but you're wrong. My suggestion to you is to always look at the interpretation that you are being given are in line with the early Church fathers. I would highly suggest you read their writings and how they interpreted scripture and the faith. There is tons of resources online. Then I would study Jewish tradition to see how they viewed and interpreted the old testament. God bless you brother keep seeking.

I love your enthusiasm, Keith! At our parish the Easter fire for the vigil is built outside just as sunset descends, the great Easter candle is lit from it, and the parishioners' individual candles are lit from the Easter candle. We all then process into the dark church - gives me chills to think about it and what a privilege it is to be a part of such a beautiful faith tradition. When I was younger I explored some Protestant churches, but being Catholic is, I think, in my DNA - LOL! I always say, "At the end of the day, I can't NOT be Catholic!" Thanks for your great witness and videos. Peace.

I remember how, as a Protestant, I had been told that Catholics don't ever read the Bible, that they were ignorant of the Word. And then I attended a Mass and heard an Old Testament reading, an Epistle reading, a Gospel reading and a Psalm. And of course, I discovered that this is what Catholic liturgy incorporates at EVERY SINGLE MASS! And that there were prescribed Biblical readings for every week of the year outside of Mass. And that I could go to any Catholic Church and hear the same readings, no matter where I attended. That the Scripture readings moved in two-year cycles, so that a faithful Catholic could hear great portions of Holy Scripture simply by listening from a pew. Now it may be true that there are Catholics who have never taken the time to read and memorize Scripture themselves, but that is not from lack of exposure to Scripture during worship.

In our town we start the Holy Week with Holy Thursday service, Good Friday, Easter Vigil and Easter Sunday mass. As a little girl the Easter vigil mass seem like 4 yrs instead of 4 hrs. As an adult I actually like dedicating those 4 hours to the one who gave his life for us.

Totally agree with you! I got converted from Protestantism to Catholicism when I was 22 after a lot of thinking, analysis and comparison of the two different faiths. Basically they are the same but also very different. For a long time I thought I was the only one who recognized the attractions of the Catholic faith. Catholics tend to keep their faith to themselves too and some of them just don’t talk about their faith. Then I heard from Dr. Scott Hahn’s story and found out following Catholic faith makes so much sense. Unfortunately some Catholics seem to have less appreciation of how precious Catholicism is. It seems as a convert we have searched so hard and got beaten so bad along the way to find the true faith makes us appreciate it a bit more. Don’t get me wrong. I know some cradle Catholics who are very devoted too. I thoroughly enjoy your videos and please continue to make more. God bless you and your family! From Alberta, Canada

They hate the Catholic church .but the more they say horrible things about us the more it make me strong Yet I respect those Non catholic religions. Do they respect us. Sad to Say We go to mass. recieved the Eucharist. .We listen to the word off God an worship Jesus but we're still.insulted Yet I known a Catholic s .to going out an trying to convert or say horrible things about other Religions. .At the end off day we worship Jesus like everyone. Else does but our way is always wrong according to Non Catholics iam happy for all the fingers tio be pointed at us. .The last shall be first. an the first shall be last .
