Also can dial up a bit hotter and straight line weld it. Just need to move faster on it. I dont pattern any welds these days when doing this type of work with wire feed. Hot flat welds and let it sizzle.

why only run the exhaust past the cab and not all the way back? Any advantages or just cost saving?

The truck is on air ride and lays on the ground so there's not much room to bring it back any further.

That's one reason people do it. Some people like to have their builds have side exit exhaust

For this specific application you would need to cut a hole in the sheet metal for a side exhaust - again the frame and body lays on the ground.

These kits have 180 and 120 Degree Bends that would be used to go over the axle if you're running back that far.
