funny you mention that, I was looking around the house for stainless dowels before I decided on wood!

Great tip. My wife currently keeps rolled up dish and hand towels in the drawer. This mod might be just the thing to make it better for other items.

Hey Eric, that’s a pretty good idea too. We keep those in our oven since we never use it. Have never even lit it once lol.

Great Idea! My husband actually installed cables on this cabinet so when it opens it is level.

I’ve done a similar mod, except with a thin bungee cord stretched between two eye-screws. Bungee is easily detached for larger items.

Looks great but did I miss something? Dont you have to turn the items on their side to get them in there since the dowels are permanent?
@RVTIPSANDTRAVELS3 жыл бұрын
Taller items may have to go in a little bit sideways, correct. The only thing in the video that needed to go in sideways was the syrup. Because of the depth everything else fits in vertically. And they won’t fall out!

Great idea and awesome workmanship. The only problem I see wrong with it is it makes the dowels a permanent fixture, so if you wanted to put something bigger in there such as a carton of cigarettes it's not going to fit because of the top tower. They make Nets better design for spaces like that. You just need to find the one that is your size or trim down something a little bit larger. Or, go to the hardware store and you can get a little arm that goes inside that you can adjust to keep the door from falling open like that.

Thanks Steve. Planning is key, make sure you know what you are going to put in there. If you want to remove them it’s actually pretty simple and not permanent. Just cut the dowels off with a zip tool flush to the cabinet side, a little sand paper to smooth it out, and run some stain over it. Would probably never even notice they were there.

I’ve been around modifying car stereos, interiors, exteriors, building show cars, etc most of my life. I’ve used that experience in RV’s. Not all that much different. Thanks for the kind response!
