Andy, Heywood-Wakefield are very much still in existence having made furniture following the times. Showing the quality of their furniture and the love put into it by the local people working from them. When they started, you could have found members of a whole family working for them. If you Google them you can see some of their mid century pieces going right back to much older pieces. You might even be able to get an idea of the age of your piece. Remember, anything over 100 yrs is considered an antique. I'm so glad you rescued it. I watch you from Northern Ireland, but missed some episodes, can't watch tv lying down when I'm unwell. Catching up. 🥰

So glad to have you back! I wish we didn’t live on opposite coasts - I’m looking for a little pretty end table to put in our entryway. We’ve downsized into a small older home and your lovingly rehabbed, remade table would be so perfect. I wouldn’t have looked twice at the table in its original state, but if I saw it the way it looks now, I would grab it! BTW, much as I like the blue & white drawer pull, I prefer the wooden one for the way the table looks in general.
