How to Make Sautéed Collard Greens
Ingredients:
½ lb collard greens, chopped into 1 ½ inch pieces
½ an onion, finely chopped
½ tsp salt
1 tsp pepper
1 tsp chili flakes
1 ½ cups chicken broth
5 -6 garlic cloves, minced
3 strips of bacon, chopped
1 tbsp. olive oil
Making Sauteed collard greens:
Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Add minced garlic and sauté for a minute. Add bacon, mix and sauté till the bacon become crisp. Add chopped onions, mix and cook for 4 to 5 minutes till softened.
Stir in chopped collards, and cook until they are wilted. Then pour in chicken broth, season with chili flakes, salt and pepper and mix well. Reduce the heat to low, and simmer for 45 to 50 minutes till the collards are cooked and tender. Serve hot!
