Just in time for Thanksgiving. This will be the dish I brink to the family's dinner. I was the last to lay down, everyone was full and knocked out. I just got back from Gatlinburg TN and a breakfast restaurant we ate at had something called “Cherokee Sweet Corn Pone” It was soooo delicious. I’m hoping this is what it was. It looks similar. Making this recipe and a broccoli casserole as well. Steamed chopped broccoli drained.( large). 2 large grated onions 2cups of mayonnaise 2 eggs Salt/ pepper Onion powder Buttered bread crumbs onto. Just took mine out of the oven. It's really, really good. I didn't have butter so I used olive oil instead. After 45 minutes I turned the oven off and added shredded cheese. Just wanted to come back and say thanks again and to let you know that the jalapeno & cheddar version was a huge hit....even with the lil ones. I stirred the shredded cheddar into the basic recipe the laid the jarred jalapeno slices whole, with the seeds sparingly one one side and heavily on the other. Keep in mind I quadrupled this recipe as our family gather is 50 to 80 ppl with each adult family member contributing a dish (some still bring 3 or 4) I was happy to only enough left over to serve the 4 of us who are here today. Thanks again! Your broccoli cheese casserole is my first of your many recipes to try.

There are so many other posts that I could have clicked on but am so happy to have found yours. There are a few others that I looked at that didn't fit the recipe we are familiar with and I'm going to try as they are scratch cooking. I'll try and share the results with you for certain. I'm so glad to find a happy medium kind of person as in everyday ppl can find as use ingredients needed...basic recipes are so much appreciated because anyone can choose to make it their own with a few tweaks. I think the only thing in our recipes that didn't match was mine had a 1/3 cup of sugar per batch and yours didn't have sugar. What I learned is that the recipe doesn't need added sugar...the corn makes it sweet enough therefore your recipe is healthier for my family and not one person noticed. I won't ever waste sugar on that again.....

I melt my butter in the pan in the oven then add the mixture on top. Comes out nice and crispy on the bottom and edges.

I don’t put in regular corn and absolutely no sour cream, just not needed. I don’t use eggs, I add in 1/3 on sugar and a stick of melted butter and creamed corn only! Soo damn good! 🔥🔥

@@southerngirlcooks I have before. But when I did it was drizzled onto mixed with butter.. All my friends love Jiffy. I am crazy about Martha White product. I started using her stuff when Jiffy wasn't on the isle. And I can truly say I havent went back. But this dish is yummy! It is ,quick and I use as dessert, side dish with taco night, chili nights, and Christmas and Thanksgiving.

You read my mind on the onions and bell peppers. I do add onions and I cook them 3/4 of the way to where they are almost caramelized and once mixed in I also add 1 cup of cheddar cheese then Parmesan on top.
