I love this stitch, you made it look so easy!!! I have early onset Dementia, so I have forgotten so many stitches, and I have not crochetted (sp), in 28 years!!!! Plus I have old yarns that old, too. I recently did make an afghan for a relative and I used a Bernat Teal cake. BOY it was so heavy when I finished, I couldn't pick it up, so I had my daughter help me. BUT I di dhave wonky sides, ect. BUT I am using my old nearly 30 year old yarns, I do not remember my old stitches tho and this is so maddening! I am going to use just 2 colors and try this. I thank you for this video!!! I will take a pic of this when or if I get it right. I have terminal heart and lung disease, so I hope I get this right!!! hehehe~~~~srsly!!!! BUT I do like the bigger 3 or 4 size yarns and needles they use now a says!!! THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!!

I made a baby blanket using this stitch almost 30 years ago. It was called "kittens on a fence" back then. I was asked to bring my baby items I'd made to show an 80 year old woman, and that was one of the pieces. Turns out the woman thought I was *giving* it all away to her! Well, I didn't have the heart to tell her no, and she ended up with a treasure of items to give to her great grand kids. It took a long time to find the pattern again after multiple moves. I did lose another pattern that I've never been able to find again. Glad to see these kitties back in favor again. Also glad to see you are giving the kitties a 4-puff instead of a 2-puff I've seen recently. Kitties need fluffy puffy paws.

My friend's parents passed away in 2016. Her mom was a crocheter and had made this in black, white, and gray and she always thought it looked like a cat printer that ran out of ink. When helping her and her sisters go through the things at the house the following year, she had mentioned always wanting something with this stitch, so I proceeded to find a tutorial on here and made her a two tones of purple scarf oriented the other way. After that, she dubbed me the crochet ninja, because I had only been crocheting a few months at the time, and brought her a scarf the next day 😂 This is why the cat stitch (she had called it cat on a fence) will always have fond memories besides the fact that I am a "crazy" cat lady 🙂 There are a few different variations floating around, and I wanted to see how YOU did it. After 3 days of frustration, I googled easy cat stitch, and this video was the first suggestion. I'm taking a break, but I'm about to start row 7, and I only had to start over one time for miscounted stitches! Thank you for what you do.
