I love your patterns. And it makes me angry when people criticize the way you talk. I love how you teach and I learned a lot from you, and I crochet for more than 50 years. And if you would say “ oké” a 1000 times, I wouldn’t mind. You give us your patterns for free and teaches us for free. Everybody should be very grateful for what you do. And above that, you have a lovely voice to listen to. So if anybody makes comments about your video’s, don’t forget, they don’t have to watch it.

Thanks! Keep creating! Finishing up my 3rd duster cardigan. This one with lighter weight yarn so my daughter will have two. She loved the first one. Excited to start this project after I finish that second cardigan for her. You teach me how to be a designer and adjust on my own. You actually mentor me. I personally am reassured by the way you encourage me through reinforcing phrases and words such as…okay, right, yeah alright…because of your voice tone and cadence. These are affirming cues you place in the video to let me know I am doing well. It makes you more present in my space…the same as if you were sitting next to me. It gives me confidence to make changes and adjustments that make the garment I am creating my own. It is nice that others share their opinion and even nicer you gently and graciously remind them that it is important for many of us that we remain who we are. You rock!

Thank you so much for your words of reassurance and encouragement. I appreciate your support and feedback. It makes me happy to hear that you have recreated several pieces from my tutorials and that you are constantly learning and building your confidence in crocheting your pieces. Found you on Instagram. It isn’t my favorite but you asked us to follow. Sent you a message but made an error. Prom is at the end of the school year in the spring close to summer. Homecoming is in the fall. As a girl I wore gorgeous sweater and skirt sets to Homecoming dances….now almost 50 years later young women are doing the same thing! You will want to think from the perspective of a school administration person….very modest creations for some schools and elegant less restrictive but appropriate for high school…College homecomings you have a little more “wiggle room “…and yes my guys also need sweaters so they feel included when I am sitting here doing my thing.

I'm thinking of making the duster as well and would love to see how yours came out. Any chance you might post a photo of it?
@1sgooden3 ай бұрын
@@leecrespi5162 thanks for the question. Not sure how you are posting photos here. All replies are text only as far as I know. The first one I made took me several months as I was learning to master the stitch. I kept this one for myself as it wasn’t perfect, sleeves a bit too long, pockets a little wonky, etc. Also, the yarn I used which I think was a 5 or 6 made the garment very heavy. It is definitely a winter coat. I made a second one for my daughter, different color, same yarn. It too is very heavy so winter coat feel. Sleeves and pockets were right this time. She looks amazing in it. She is always cold so she wouldn’t take it off. Gave it to her for her birthday. She is an adult with a sense of humor. She wore the new coat and the paintball mask her brother gave her for pictures I took, also we don’t post many pics to social media so…lol. I did make her a second one, same color, different yarn, Yarnspirations, Caron, Simply Soft collection, 4. This one only took a couple weeks as I was getting better a the stitch and the pattern. It is much lighter, meaning it feels as you would expect a sweater to feel. Still very warm but not something you can go out in a blizzard still coming back toasty and warm like the other two I made…lol! So…what I am saying is…choose your yarn carefully, lighter yarn is better as this garment has ALOT of yarn in it! Hope this helps. Have fun!
@leecrespi51623 ай бұрын
@@1sgooden Thanks for replying. Your comments are very helpful. I'm going to try this top first and see how it looks then consider doing the duster. Definitely in a lightweight yarn. Cheers!

I"m a man, and I enjoy crocheting and knitting. I did a search for shirts and ran across this tutorial. I am VERY excited to try making this very soon, but I do have another project I recently began, so I tried your method of securing the beginning of the stitches by crocheting extra and then cutting the yarn... GENIUS!! It worked amazingly well and like many other people have posted, it's so much easier than counting and miscounting and starting over again. I'll be working on your shirt as soon as I can. Thank you Miss Agnes for a clear tutorial on how to make this a successful project!

You just blew my mind! What you did with the starting foundation chain has changed my whole crochet practice. Do you know how many times I *just* had to redo the foundation chain and first row of amy QUEEN size blanket In order to get the correct measurement?? FIVE!! I was ready to throw away my hooks and give up! And that happens with almost every project! Oh I wish I had seen this video months ago! I've even thought of doing that cut but I was so afraid the entire thing would unravel and then I would waste even more time AND my yarn. Mind officially blown! This tip alone is priceless to me in terms of my saved time and the removal of the only impediment to starting some projects I've really wanted to do. I'm on a fixed disability income so I can't give you as much as I think that tip is worth but I hope this shows my appreciation for everything you do and share with us at least. Thank you so much for your creativity and your amazing teaching skills. May you be blessed and highly favored!
