Nice video, but the Spyder is a different ball game for changing bulbs. But it to can be done in a similar way but without removing the tail light assembly, just need someone with long fingers and a skinny hand to reach around behind the light assembly.

Hey, I like your video and just subscribed! I'm glad someone finally brought attention to the easy access to the brake light. And just a suggestion you should probably configure some brackets for the other 2 screws on the grill. I had to on mine it almost vibrated off and their not cheap. Lamborghini incorporates so much engineering in almost everything but these cheap ass grill mounts. I own 2 Lamborghini's and I have worked on both. Everything from twin turbos, stage 2 nitros, titanium exhaust etc....etc... thanks for the video I'll keep watching!

Hi Nicholas, Im glad that trick with the two hidden bolts helped you. I couldn't agree more, I need to figure out the best way to fix this, you don't even have to tell me how much those grills must cost because I don't want to know! I agree with you about how well engineered these cars are, they are very well made and everything seems to be designed with a lot of thought to the mechanics that have to work on them. They sell replacement mounts for those broken-off pieces, one is aluminum and comes from the UK and is about $1100 and someone else also sells fiberglass ones so I was thinking about making my own and selling them for cheaper! Is that something that you need or did you buy a replacement from lambo? What two Lamborghinis do you own? Im assuming pre-LP Gallardo and something else?

Hey man, great videos and all but I noticed that ina lot of your videos you mention "dielectric" grease as some sort of "helper" of electrical connections (in this video for example you suggest putting it in the connector) In fact that's the exact opposite! Even by definition, dielectric means insulating from electricity. The dielectric grease is useful on the outside of the connector to stop water ingress. Or say on top of battery terminals or anywhere where you want the connection sealed from the elements. In this case, if you have a bad connection, I suggest some wd40 and some fine sandpaper to clean up any corrosion.
@TheBullRider2 жыл бұрын
AlfaAddict, omg 😳😳😳😳 you're totally right I just looked this up. I have been doing this for years!!! I'm definitely not perfect so thank you so much for pointing this out to me! I think years ago I saw a gentleman use it as a sort of "helper" of electrical connector conductivity in a standalone engine management system install. And I installed my standalone in the same way and it works great but I never knew! Ill make a video on the right way to use dielectric grease and then update the descriptions of all the videos with this

@TheBullRider2 жыл бұрын
No the grease didn't help Neular. I was using the wrong way (long story). What did work well was cleaning the contacts on the wiring harness! If that doesnt work for you, you can always get yourself a new brake light harness for about 100$ a side brand new from lambo

I'm impressed with your engineering background. Had I known that, I wouldn't have left the comment on your first video about the purchase. Look for companies that do aftermarket engineering for your car. Ferrari has many. You should be able to convert the tailights to LED with an aftermarket product like you can for older Ferrari's. It will spruce them up and bring it to a more modern look.
@TheBullRider2 жыл бұрын
Kent thanks for reaching out! No worries, I totally get it. If you buy an old supercar like this and you cant work on it yourself you are in for a world of hurt! The only thing I'm missing from my toolbox is the diagnostic software to read all the control modules in the car but I plan to keep this car long-term so I know it will be a worthy investment eventually. You are right on the money for aftermarket parts for this car! I was thinking about converting the tail lights to the 2009-2014 LED taillights as a few companies sell a kit but I kind of like the old-school look of these ones! I also like the idea of keeping the car 99% stock, maybe Im just a bit of a purist! Do you like the more modern look?

@@TheBullRider To answer your question, I'm not a fan of newer Lamborghini's, but I am a fan of DIY'ers. Love DIY content! I have a '06 Gallardo Spyder. I'd like to add a stripe to the car and need to take off the rear script. Is there a shortcut to accessing the two fasteners it like you did on the tail light w/o removing the rear bumper?
@TheBullRider2 жыл бұрын
Hi Dave! Glad you have an 06 Spyder. The DIY should be the same to get to those two fasteners on your car. This is the simplest way that I know of to get to those fasteners. Just take that small grill off as I did in the video and reach your hand up with a 10mm socket and a small extension and you will be able to get to them no problem! Harbor freight should have the T15 torx that you need to get that grill off too for very little money!

My left brake light went out, so I tried pulling it out with your video as a guide, but found that it was impossible to get to the inside m6 bolts since for my year (04) there is a large heat shielding that gets in the way. Guess I'll have to do the jacking method after all :(

@TheBullRider Жыл бұрын
@@jasonhall1335 Sorry for the late reply. That is really odd behavior. I would check fuses first and then ensure that you are getting 12 volts on the proper lights when you turn on the headlights/running lights, when you turn on the reverse lights and when you hit the brakes.

Great vid with the right level of detail! If you're going to do DIY stuff then it's only useful if the process can be replicated by whoever watches it. Also, let's be honest, no one is going to watch DIY stuff if they don't have the vehicle.
@kentadams45892 жыл бұрын
That's no where near accurate. People watch DIY stuff all the time that they don't actually intend to do themselves. There is a natural intellectual curiosity to DIY. For example, I own an F430. I have no interest in Gallardo's as a car, but I find it interesting to watch how other cars are repaired. You can always learn something that can be applied to another situation.

why you didn't put LED bulbs?
@TheBullRider2 жыл бұрын
Fede, good question. Most of the time I have found these bulbs to be expensive, prone to causing codes on the dash due to the change in resistance and frustrating to install with the correct resistors to obtain an error free result. I am looking into developing a high quality kit for the Gallardo that will work error free but that's a ways out.
