Wingnut - For a live edge hanging shelf I took a live edge board, cut it into three different lengths (about 9", 11" & 13") and drilled a hole in the back of each dead center. Then I put a Hillman 3 prong nut in the hole and screwed in a hanger bolt (bolt on one end and lag bolt on the other). Simply drill a hole in the wall where the stud is and "screw" the shelf into the wall until flush. I wrapped them together with twine to sell as a set with a typed note card with the instructions (hole size to drill is important). Scrap turned shelves. (You know how to tell who's a woodworking dad. Lots of keys, probably on a carabiner, and can't stop making shelves.) Thanks for all the great vids. Keep going all you sawdust addicts. Matt, I loved what you were saying at the beginning of the video. We always taught our daughter, that there is no such thing as can't. In fact I have a card on my fridge that reads, "the only thing you can't do, is the thing you haven't tried". And, yes I read that often, because I go to the fridge more than I should. My wife liked the plant swing, not to hot on the clothes rack. May try a couple anyway.

Wingnut. I'm a 63 yo female, retired last year. I've always been a crafter, but I started watching videos like yours and those that rip apart pallets and make amazing things and I would love to have a workshop. We went to an auction a few weeks ago and I got a working craftsman table saw for $20! I already have a mitre saw I bought a few years ago to update my kitchen cabinets and for Christmas my husband bought me a small circular saw because I complained that his was too heavy for me. We picked up some free pallets recently and they certainly don't come apart as easily as in the videos! Some we had to cut nails, some we had to cut the slats, and yesterday we had one that I knew if we tried to take anything off it we were going to split the wood for sure. So I took my circular saw and cut the whole thing in half. It is now the cutest sides to my new strawberry bed, looks like a picket fence! I love watching your videos, and I may start to make things to try and sell, but first I have to make everything I want!

I was constantly told I couldn’t and shouldn’t even try. Even by loved ones. Well, nowadays my customer base is predominantly exactly what I wanted to do. Building custom woodworks for “the rich”. Had I given up or listened to the naysayers I would not be doing what I’m doing. As Matt says, you HAVE to believe in yourself!

Then, you immediately turned around and said, almost verbatim, the exact same thing I'd just told her! I'm coming on 62 and looking to retire very soon...life at sea has lost its' luster!...woodworking has always been an interest of mine, even if I'm not terribly good at it, but I intend to put in a lot of practice in the near future! Wingnut 49yr old truck driver, 26 years OTR. Looking for a hobby to keep myself busy while at home. I had great reactions from the ketchup and mustard picnic table, but I didn't start making them till after July 4th. (I'll be ready next year). Almost time to start making Christmas stuff, people will be spending money soon!! Take care Matt! Keep it up!

Wingnut, I am a 41 year old who has always been interested in building smalls I enjoy it. My problem was always confidence though (which sucks cause I've noticed my daughter being the same way) it wasn't until I started watching your channel that I've realized I can do alot more than I ever thought I could. Your channel has helped my mind and confidence grow (which in turn has helped my daughter as well) I appreciate you and your channel so much so thank you. OFF TO THE SHOP FOR THE NEXT BUILD

Wingnut once again you are showing us how to use our scrap and have fun . I am 62 years old and using my shop time as stress releif outlet . The other day my bride brought me a broken chair leg the boys had broke. Went to my scrap bin found a possible piece ( with new confidence you've brought me) I made it installed the threaded inserts put chair back together. She still hasn't realized the chair is sitting back right. LOL THANKS

Wingnut. I'm a 44 yr old father of six. I've watched you for some time now and I have to admit your words of inspiration are right on time. I love the small projects. I've built the the Adirondack squirrel feeders the chicknic tables the BBQ picnic table caddy and many others. I also source ideas from other places and my own imagination. I've had a lull in sales and it makes you think about not doing it anymore. But then I remember I liked doing it before I tried selling things.keep doing it if you love it. Thanks Mr Peech.

Wingnut your videos are amazing. Not only do I get inspiration for fun do-able projects, but you are so encouraging and have such a positive attitude about trying new things and having confidence in ourselves. You are doing much more here than teaching us how to build things out of wood :-)

And you show the good, bad and mistakes and ways to correct or make them better or a complete redesign.
