Absolutely taken with this. Thanks Doug. My 68th birthday on Thursday so I know what to treat myself to - a set of knives. Never tried anything like this but nothing ventured, nothing gained. Best regards from the UK.

The man…the myth…the legend…Doug I am 23 and you have inspired me to take time to to slow down my life with this little passion for wood…I started with the wizards and gnome heads so I can give them to my children and over time I only wish to have the amount of skill you have gained

This is great! Thank you for showing us how to knock the ears out. I made an Easter one and used an Easter egg for his hat until I could figure out the ears! Now I have a great guide thank you again

Good evening Doug. These are very nice projects. I started carving maybe seven years ago and almost gave up. But then I came across your videos and have never looked back. You have inspired me to keep at it and now you would be hard pressed to find me without a carving knife in my hands for a good part of the day. Still not really good with it but I enjoy it and hope to carve until they bury me, hopefully with a flexcut. Thank you for what you do!!!

I'm new to wood carving and this was such a great project. I gave it to my daughter and we painted it together (followed your paint tutorial). We had the most wonderful afternoon at the workbench, and she didn't put down her little easter egg bunny for the rest of the day. It is a memory I will cherish for a long, long time. Thanks, Doug.

Just about to start out whittling and I'm really enjoying your videos. Very instructive, easy to follow and terrific results. I can't help noticing, though, that there are few, if any, female figures amongst your projects. I'd love some ideas for such things for my grand-daughter and hope you can come up with something for all the girls out there.

The most exciting video I can think of would be on carving and coffee, to have each of you carve the head of the other and display it on the show. I keep asking on both places but guess it is out of the question. It would be so much fun to see the surprise of each of you seeing the others work as a surprise for the first time.

Got everything up to the face carving in my car while I was waiting for my daughter to finish soccer practice. After everyone was in bed started on the face and the wood split under the nose before putting the teeth in. So I just shaved off the face and will just leave it like that. That’s pretty typical for this Amazon wood I bought a few months ago as soon as I’m done with it I’m going to spend a little more on better wood. Thanks for the idea and video hope to see you post more some day.
