Here are a few easy fishing tips to catch more bass on a wacky rig. I am using a Yum Dinger for this video. I like to use a small hair tie instead of an o-ring. Hook your wacky hook right behind the "X" where you rubber band is doubled up. There are three easy retrieves you can use to entice a bass. You can walk it on top with a quick retrieve. You can also twitch the lure just below the surface. And finally you can let it sink to the bottom. Adding a pinch on sinker may help with this. By using these easy fishing tips, I bet you can catch more bass on wacky rigs. #fishing #bassfishing

So many fishing channels on YT suggest casting out the wacky and letting it sink to the bottom. And then wait. However, every bass I have caught on the wacky was during the retrieve while giving a twitching action. There are so many "experts" out there that copy each other, that a mythology arises that for the most part are unrealistic. Thanks for keeping it real, backlashes and all. 🎣🐟

I got both of mine on the fall but I'm new. I can't wait to get out and try again. This time i put a lil band of electric tape then the hair tie and hooked through both to see if i can make my worms last more than 1 fish.

No hype, no indirect ads, no discount promos, no expensive gear and tackle show off, no overzealous gen z euphoria, no aimless blathering and babbling, just a realistic fishing experience convyed by a nice dude with a dry humor, trying to spend a nice day fishing. Ohh ! Alex also appreciates and treats these magnificent creatures gently.

I like the Yum Dinger, but they sink slower than the Senko or Stik-o worms (in my opinion) - I add about a 1/8 weight to my Dingers, and they sink and move great.

I've had a good bit of success on wacky rigs lately. But I've had to let them sit there for a long, long time before doing anything. My clue about this came when I cast my bait out, nearly tripped over my tackle box which was on the ground, bent down to clean up the mess which took me 20-30 seconds, and then go back to fishing. I twitched my line once and had a good bite! Ever since then, I let my worm soak for a while before I work it. I don't think everyone has to do that. Some guys might be doing good fishing it a lot faster. But it's what's working for me.

I tried the Trout Magnet craws, I was fishing for panfish and caught two nice quarter pounders. It was so fun that I went out and bought a pack of Rage Craws. I’m normally a catfish or panfish kind of guy but, watching you having this much fun, I’m going to extend my tackle to include some bass lures. Nice catches and great video Alex.

Grabbed up some weedless wacky hooks, cheap hair ties and yum dingers and got 2 largemouth bass on my 1st 2 casts ever using it. 😮 I lost both worms tho but it was worth the fun! I saw the 1st bass chase after something in the creek on my way out to river and casted towards the splash. The wacky rig sunk for maybe 2 or 3 seconds before my line took off and I set the hook! That was awesome!

do you just use regular o rings like harbor freight has? I've been wanting to try a wacky rig but Walmarts kit is like 20 bucks. I'm pretty excited. I just got myself a new rod and reel since my birthday is this month. got an abu Garcia vengeance medium fast rod and a quantum optix 10 reel. 7 ft 1 piece. little more than I would usually pay. think the rod was 40 bucks and the reel was 25. I could have got 2 combos for that price 😐 but my bday is coming up and I liked it so I got it. it's nice. going to break it in tomorrow, it's supposed to be like 50 degrees out in the morning.

Got a laugh out of the backlash 😂. My bait caster is on my per say vintage 6’6” Ugly Stik medium action . It could double as a pry bar.
