Please remember in your cow barn to make sure you have a really good air flow we found it the best for the air flow to be up at the top it will prevent bugs and pneumonia which cows and calf’s are prone to Once your calf comes you confidence with the cows will increase calf’s are so much fun and are so loving Good luck xx

If you can elevate where the cow stands it will make your life a lot easier, squatting or even sitting on a stool is harder than you might think. Even if you use a machine it takes time to clean her udders and get the cups attached, plus time to detach and ck for any problem with the teats and treat them if necessary. Plus it’s just easier to see everything. ❤

Things are coming together for you! Yes, the pancake mix is better than the store. I used to make my own also… and sometimes would go crazy and grind my own flour. For levening, eggs and egg white whipped are a great levening. Try doubling the egg and I think you will have a great rise. Also, you can add cottage cheese yogurt and a few eggs. :) I know that you may end up with some extra milk soon… so easy ways to use it up is to make the hot cocoa with milk, keep milk steeped chia in the fridge and make the pancakes with added milk, yogurt cottage cheese to decrease the flour added in, equal part eggs and cottage cheese then add in the pancake mix. Lastly, farmers cheese is easy to make and freezes well.

So if you got yourself a freeze dryer you can freeze dry your cows milk. Then you can use that in place of the powder milk. Thus completely organic and you can also always have cows milk no matter what happens. 😊
