I put a copper coil in my Palmer plant and she absolutely loves. It grew so much within the first week of me getting her

When I tried to repot one of these a long time ago, I noticed the roots were very short and had a hard time planting them deep enough to stabilize the plant, and it kept wanting to fall over. Got another one, and will use mounds of moss to help retain moisture and help keep the stems together and in place. Also, I enjoyed hearing the waterfall in the background - soothing and organic.

Brought mine for Ikea during the winter. It's been so informative. This is my second, I allowed my first to dry out too much. Learned, gave thanks for the experience and doing much better now. Also wanted to note that air plants would do so well in those magnetic plants, since no watering is required.

@@vanessavioletprincess1881 I also bought it from IKEA and I have many tips ° spray the leaves with those little squirty bottle thingys it rlly helps °make sure to keep the soil moist IKEA ones seem much more thirsty (i have one not from IKEA) but don't let any water sit at the bottom of your plant pot °pour water through your plant let it drain, do this multiple times as I said before they're thirsty must be the soil (only water when soil gets dry) °don't repot it immediately like I did trust me it stunts the growth ° keep it somewhere where there is sun but not to much mine is in my bathroom as that room gas a very good window abd let's just the right amount of light in ° have fun xx

@LiDevil5435 жыл бұрын
Lot information I found online for this plant, it all says it's water sensitive that it shouldn't be water too much. I understand it was originally from reinforce, so it like moist. How much water are you giving each time then?
@ydz10164 жыл бұрын
My parlor palm started to grow out instead of shooting up so I gently tied a string around the stalks at the bottom to hold it up. Is this okay or could there be an underlying reason for its outward growth? It seems to be healthy overall - very green!

My boyfriend just brought one of these home from our latest trip to ikea, in the store it was like he was begging his parents to adopt a new puppy, I finally gave in. There is no way these 50 baby plants can survive in one pot long term.... I know I have to divide it or thin it out eventually as I'd like for it to live a long time and grow large, any advice? (He doesn't take much care of the plants, he buys them to add to MY already large collection lol.) He already tried to put it outside in full sun on a breezy 50 degree day... sheesh. Sorry for the rant, great video!
@TropicalPlantParty6 жыл бұрын
lol, rants are welcomed! They really do over pack them into the pots when they are seedlings, but the neantha bellas really do well clumped up, and kind of naturally thin out on their own over many years, but yeah, 50 is pushing it!

Sorry 10 months later...we had this miniature palm in a medium size pot for like 20 years until my mom moved for the 3rd time. She gave it away I believe. This grew so beautiful and full and got to be over 3 feet tall! Just use liquid fertilizer. We never gave it new soil or transplant it as I can remember. We should have given it new good potting soil though but fertilizing it a bit helped it. Never had a bug problem, leaf problem! I watered it twice a week.

If you were to grow them with submerged roots would they do well like that?
@TropicalPlantParty6 жыл бұрын
They can be grown with their roots submerged in moving water (not stagnant water) for a little while, but not prolonged. Sometimes people put them in fountains and aquariums, which works for awhile but eventually they start to decline unless it is a true hydroponic setup. :)

I just bought mine today from Home Depot. I have a question. Now that I got it home I noticed the ends of the leaves are starting to curl. Is that normal? I'm wondering if it's due to removing it from HD atmosphere and into my home. I have it on my night stand in my room which is usually dark but I do have a fan on almost at all times. I do plan on misting it once a day and watering 1x week for now. Will that help the leaves from curling?

Oh you shouldn't feel guilty, you put them outside to help them. They bounce back very easily. Just give it plenty of water, bright indirect light and as much warmth as you can and they'll shoot out new fronds in no time. Oh and a good fertilizing will help also. :)
