Thanks, I tried it this morning. I didn't want to risk breaking the plastic tab, so I left the plastic piece on, put the pressure towards the front so the plastic was touching the back teeth of the cutter, and sharpened on the diamond stone. It seemed to work pretty well and saves time putting back together.

I did the same blade of a Moser trimmer with 320 white grit. I'm using The Shop Inc machine and i got good result, no customer complaints even after 3 months. With Love from India.

The Shop machine is a good machine. I'm glad you had good results. The finer grit may be the answer. What is the "white grit" made of?

This is for the cutter. bonika.com/products/duo-sharp-for-ceramic-blades-1. However, the comb should be sharpened on a taper style clipper hone machine,

i do these blades on the same plate i do the A5 blades. i do the comb part on the outside of the plate so it's flatter and the cutter on the inside for the concave. after i brush the burr off the cutter i do a few light passes on the DMT sharpener to make sure the burr is gone. they come out great. i find these easier to do than A5 blades.

The cutter is so thin that it takes more skill to do this accurately on the Nebraska Blades machine. I know people who sharpen your way successfully. My way works well for newbies.

We do plenty enough of them as sharpeners. I have a set to test A5 these and am going to buy a set of magic clip. Seems that's the majority I come across so investing the money to keep customers happy makes sense.

Hi. What grain sand paper did you use? I heard you say rough side, then fine. Or something like that. I do my regular blades with sand paper using 2 different grains and it works great. Thank you for your video. Rick, Dog Groomer here.

Hi Bonnie! Thanks for sharing this. Can they be sharpened by hand without using a clipper machine? I'm a handy metalworker and am interested in learning to do this on my own.
@BonikaShears2 жыл бұрын
No. Only that one blade. The top or comb blade must be done on a hollow clipper hone. See my video “How is a lampshade like a clipper hone” to understand why.

You can also sharpening the smaller blade on big red but just draw it one time on the big red thats it or two times and the large blade like other oster/andis blades
@BonikaShears3 жыл бұрын
Yes, Rade. That was the way I was trained to do this on the clipper machine, but I do so few of these that this is more fool proof for me to do it this way, although maybe not the best method.

Bonnie, that cutter blade is not aluminum. It is magnetic, and is a hardened alloy of some sort, but not aluminum.
@BonikaShears3 жыл бұрын
Oh my!!! You are so right! Thank you for correcting me. I should know that. The metal is so thin and is so easily warped by heat. Whoever invented these hated sharpeners.

@@BonikaShears yes, these cutters require perfect technique when machine sharpening. Thanks for sharing!

It is better to use cast iron plates. They should be perfectly flat! I am using surface plates. On one I sharpen with 14/10 diamond paste, and on the other I polish with machine oil.
