These Windsurfing demonstrations are excellent to see and although I ran my own Windsurfing school over 40×years ago it's always a pleasure and delight to watch the Windsurfing action.

Do it on a big floaty board in light winds, then everything you learn - you can use it stronger winds, and when planing - just do it in bite sized portions! good luck

My problem is how do to a jibe in a waveboard and light wind conditions. When I cannot lean down the sail, I get stuck in the downwind direction. Any tip for this situation? I haven't find any tutorial for jibing in light wind and short board.

Jose Marcelo Lima Duarte Hello Jose.In light winds the board loses speed and drops off the plane easily. If that happens, you have to use the rig to steer through the jibe - just like you would do on a big board: lean the rig outside the turn - other than when planing at speed where you lean the rig inside the turn.In case you have any other questions please address via the web page.Thank you.YourJP team

jpaustraliacom Thank you. It solves my problem. I'm also starting the move in switch stance position now. When planing, I use to switch the stance after crossing the wind line, but in light wind jibe I feel like it's better to switch it before crossing the wind line. I don't know if this is the best way to do it.

Hello Jose. To switch the stance before crossing the wind line is not common standard. But who cares as long as it works for YOU! In the old days and on long boards this would have been called freestyle :-) Anyway... don't just follow rules and standards, but "play" on the water. Do whatever you like and whatever you think is most convenient for you. Talking about playing on the water: just for fun you could delay the foot transition and sail out of the jibe in switch stance :-) Just try everything. This widens your range of experiences - and overall you become a better sailor. Your JP Team

I think you got the answer from guys above, but for other newbies curious. My suggestion in low wind and heavy/big board, you have to "maintain/hold" the sail directly perpendicular across your body and board. That means your stand feet to feet along width of the board, grab the boom and "lean back for balance"...kinda like you are waterskiing. So, then as you complete your turn it should be instinctive when to turn the sail and grab the wind on the otherside. Good luck.
