I will say it took me about one hour to change the sensor, I only removed the breather hose and used extra long handle needle nose pliers to release the sensor! That being said, it only took that long because I watched your video over and over. Thanks for all of your hard work!

I came from above (with feet over on drivers side) and with right hand felt for the bolt then took a box wrench and removed the bolt. But Still had to adjust wire harness to give more play to remove the bolt and the sensor (not much room). Then I used locking needle nose pliers with one hand and popped the sensor off the connector. This was on a 2008 Pathfinder. Took me about 20 minutes. Once I removed it I find out the replacement part that I got was not a true oem part because the housing was keyed incorrectly so I cleaned the one I just removed and reinstalled it ( course it still fails...) and then I ordered (made sure picture is exactly right) a different camshaft Position Sensor . At least I know now how to remove this easily. Without watching your video SIR this would of not been possible. Thank You!!!!

Thank you for showing the Ohm values on the camshaft/crankshaft sensor. The values: 4.17 M Ohm between "1" to "2" and "1" to "3", 1 k Ohm between "2" to "3" are what I got from ohming on Nissan Genuine part. This is a good reference for guys buying after market sensor with much less cost.

After watching numerous videos, I tackled these myself today. I did go with OEM NGK parts. Bank one passenger side is a pain in the ass but really only took about thirty minutes. I used a small vice grip to pop the sensor clip, that worked great! A little engine rebuild lube on the o ring of the new sensor and bamboo went right back in! Bank two, the drivers side took all of ten minutes, much easier. The parts and lube were 150.00 my time plus a great learning experience 100% free! I think I saved at least three hundred dollars by not going to a mechanic.

Most of these Nissan camshaft position sensors seem to fail when they get contaminated with oil but the bank 1 camshaft sensor in my 350z seemed to be clean and yet it failed. Most of the other people in the Nissan forums recommended that both camshaft position sensors and the crankshaft sensor be replaced when any one sensor fails. I did replace all three sensors in my 350z. The people in the NIssan forums also recommended the Hitachi sensors. They said that many of the aftermarket sensors failed prematurely. As you found out, you need some strong fingers to push down and release the connector with one hand. I had to put the sensor back into the engine so I could get some leverage to remove the connector after I heard it click and release. BTW, the Hitachi sensors can be purchased at RockAuto for a very good price.

Finally i did it, i recommend to change both crank shaft sensors at the same time, passenger side and driver side. Because eventhough i changed the the bank 2 first(passenger side ) becuase it was stalling out an the freeway and street, too dangerous, after 4 month the ignition key took so much time to turn on, some times it did not. Again the motor stall exiting a seven 7, i had to push my truck. After 3 days i decided to go to a nissan dealer and the cost was 150, i decided to go to o raileys because in autozone was out of stock. My nissan frontier 2005 now works smoth. The slip code disapeared and the crank turned on immediately.

Hi, I had a problem with the P 0340 code, I replaced the sensor, everything was fine only when it warmed up, after shutting down did not want to ignite, after cooling again everything worked well. It turned out that the sensor under the influence of temperature changed operation. I had to buy a new sensor again and replace, this time I bought a more expensive sensor and the company "Delphi" now is all well, works as you need !! There are many parts that are of poor quality. Greetings from Poland.
