Easy peach cobbler 😋

I make this. Only thing I do differently is: I cook my peaches on the stove adding in brown sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, a pinch of vanilla, and corn starch to thicken the juices. Then once it thickens and cools, I add to the baking dish. ☺️ Edit: I got the recipe from a YT chef named Gina Young

I am going to make this but I think I am going to sprinkle the top of the cake mix with brown sugar and add a lot more pecans. Maybe a couple of other spices. This is a great starter.

As someone who loves a touch of saltiness with all my sweets, i almost always use salted butter in everything i bake! 😄 basically, use whatever you have because it's the butter you like!

Cobbler does not always have a crust like a pie. My grandmother made many cobblers from their fruit farm and most of the time she made a crumb topping. It does have flour in it but it has NO crust. That's how we do it in the midwest.

The original recipe I saw a few years ago used the Duncan Hines Butter Golden cake mix for the dump cake. The butter pecan may be pretty good though. Great tweak for this version!

For an easier and actual “cobbler”, replace the cake mix with 1 cup of flour and 1 cup of sugar mixed with 1 cup of milk. Stir until lumps are gone then pour over your peaches. So easy and delicious!!!

I've made this for years, but the flour is self-rising, so if you've only got plain you need to add baking soda or powder. I also slice a stick of butter on top like in the video, but no cinnamon in the peaches, only if I'm using apples.

I always make any kind of "cobbler" this way! It's so easy, and it really turns out great! Delicious! Just dump any flavor of cake mix on top of your pie filling, and I melt the butter though ahead of time. Melting it first, helps to keep from missing any of the cake mix, so you don't wind up with dryer sections.

I’ve been making a version of this for decades. Typically, I cut up the peaches to bite-sized pieces. I also add a bit of nutmeg and a dash of allspice to the cinnamon which I stir into the cake mix prior to sprinkling onto the peaches. I use white cake mix to which I add roughly 1-1/2 cups of oatmeal for texture. Can’t call it finished without a scoop of vanilla or cinnamon ice cream to top it off!!

Dump cake has been around since maybe 70’s or 80’s, but a cute idea to be creative like this. On the canned peaches, I would put brown or white sugar on the peaches because they are not as sweet as pie filling. Good job!
