when you think about it, it kind of make sense. i could do a model but in pieces where it can bend and pose., save, then from there, make a pose, remesh the entire thing, and smoothen the areas where the joints meet and have a pose, then start again from the first and do a different pose, and so on
@cooki3th1ef

cool stuff, i’ve found that you can also use a spline to pose joints, it also means you can have multiple joints and don’t have to reposition your gizmo all the time :)

Hey Dave, I love your videos. They have helped me learn so much about Nomad. I was wondering if you ever 3D model in Blender? I see you export in Blender, how come you work in Nomad though? I ask because I am currently work on a VR game and am in the process of making my assets (I’m completely new to 3D modeling). I’m curious if there is an advantage in making them in either Nomad or Blender. I love that I can use my iPad wherever whenever. But my PC is way more powerful. Should I just stick to using Blender on my PC or do you think game ready assets can be created on Nomad entirely?
@drugfreedave

If you’re end game is games and such it may be a good idea to stick to blender as you can do more. Personally I’m just in it to make cool 3D art and designs, so nomad is great for me. Nomad is more of an artists 3D app where Blender is more an engineers 3D app. Coming from traditional and digital art, using nomad has been really fun. Blender can do more and is more powerful, but for my needs, it’s definitely the harder way to sculpt! 😊💯

I enjoy you videos and tutorials. But it’s unfortunate you’re using AI images in your videos. Once AI starts to create 3d model’s using your work and data it’s going to negatively impact you and what you do creatively. 🤷‍♀️

One thing I’ve learned over the years is that technology and innovation will always be working and put people of business. Usually it’s those whose can’t seem to or refuse to adapt and use new technology for their benefit. I don’t quite buy into this fear based system of “ai will replace you” because everything can and will always replace anyone who can’t find a way to stay relevant and offer something of value. My instagram used to be traditional drawing, then digital art (which people feared and demonized as well) then IG wanted to be TikTok so I had to learn recording and editing, now it’s 3D. I’ve also taught myself marketing and teaching. I started creating videos with value, and using social media to circle back to my classes where I get paid. Ai I can’t do anything with money, but people who use ai to add something of value do. I use it to teach anyone who wants to learn how to be creative and successful as an artist, a brand, or both. Can ai replace an image? Yes. Can it replace a brand that people can see, hear, edit, respond, have open dialogue with people that are afraid of it? Maybe in the future. By then I’ll have adapted as well, it’s the natural order of things. 🤷🏾‍♂️

@@drugfreedave it’s not so much the adaptation to the technology that’s the issue. It’s built off others labor and data without consent or compensation of the people who created the data to begin with. Adaptation is also about fighting for rights and protections from theft and labor abuses from big corporations and people abusing this technology. That is the biggest issue with AI. I’m not against the technology but the unethical use of it. Technology is neither good or bad it’s how it’s being used and unfortunately AI is being used as means to replace people using their own work against them. This is not “fear” this is what’s happening. It’s not just about adapting it’s How we adapt that is important. 🙆‍♀️ turning a blind eye 👁️ to those abuses, because “progress” can Lead to more abuse in the future. And defeats the very goal of progress to begin with.

You must concede this is a totally different argument than your original one right? Also, how should I feel if my art is some of the art that is “stolen by Ai”, or referenced by Ai pattern collecting data. How do you feel I should feel about that?
@Sasha444luvs
@Sasha444luvs 8 ай бұрын
@@drugfreedave how is it a different argument? My point is that is currently functions on stolen labor (data). So it disappointing for me when I see people use AI as it currently is. I know I’m not going to persuade you on anything. I just wanted to share my disappointment and spread awareness. My other comment was just responding to your argument about progress and that progress for the sake of progress is not always a good thing, and what is more important is how that progress is directed. because AI current foundation is exploitative. And built by stolen data. Especially when you research and talk with people who work in ML and better understand the technology and how it functions. It’s dose not “reference” it’s function is simmer to a calculator, but built off our public and private information and works/labor(data). And the individuals who created that data had it taken without their consent. I’m not going to say how you should feel about anything if you don’t mind your work being used that’s fine. But just because you don’t doesn’t mean others should feel the same or have their concerns dismissed because “progress”. People have a right to their labor and how it is used, not these big corporations.
@drugfreedave
@drugfreedave 8 ай бұрын
@Sasha444luvs you say it steals data: where does it steal the data from, and what is the data? What is ML? How does it function? I’m just asking because if this is your argument I’m happy to hear your reasoning and justifications. What private information is it built from, and how is it ascertaining said information? Have you had your art stolen? If so how can you prove this?

I really need help. Whenever I watch a tutorial and you click on the object to color it, the object simultaneously changes the color (without having to hit paint or force paint). Why doesn’t it work for me? I always need to hit paint or nothing changes. I really wanna see it directly on the object without hitting paint every time. I hope someone can help 😅

So when you open a new file and have a white sphere > then try to color it in the color window it won’t change? I’ll have to try and duplicate this happening bc I’m not sure why it wouldn’t be working!
