Easy roll up sides for hoop house/greenhouse

Looks interesting, but what do you do in the winter. It looks like you won't have a good seal. We have citrus and have to maintain at least 40˚F during the winter months.

If you live in a cold climate you would need to take off the rod and have wiggle track along the sides and bottom. Clamp it down with wiggle wire.

I have citrus, and I let them get as low as 25°F

You adjusted it to go up level. What heppened when you tried to lower it back to the ground, ended up short did it?

No, it wont land short, if you leave enough plastic material when you cut it. You are adjusting for flex and twist in the pipe. Metal pipe would be best, but this exercise was to show it done cheaper. Thx for watching and commenting.

Im confused...how do u keep the cold out? So u just leave it on and hope the cold soesnt come in at that big open.area...or the wind doesnt tear it... Im serious...i totally get the ventilation and its a major concern as we have a lot freak hot winter days.. Also what diameter is the pole u set in the ground? And could u PLEASE SHOW HOW TO DO A A "TIE DOWN" STRING OVER THE PLASTIC?

Hi there, well you have good questions. We are zone 9a so the gaps are not so critical for us. If you are in a cold winter area, I would pull out the roll-up pipe, put wiggle wire track along bottom board and seal it up all the way around until spring. Tape up any corners with the special tape made for this plastic. The vertical pipes are 3/4" EMT. I have not needed an anti-flap tie-down yet for the sides so no video yet, but I'll keep it in mind. Thanks. It's nothing fancy but cheap and it works. If you need it more rigid, as the plastic does sag a bit, use metal emt. Aluminum tubing would be ideal, but hard to find and expensive. Thx for watching and commenting!
