Hey folks, two things: 1- Sorry about the audio, it's too quiet and I can't turn it up after the fact. Sorry about that, hope it's not an issue for you but it might be. 2- I recorded a playthrough with no instruction, just playing. You can find it here: kzbin.info/www/bejne/sIWWgGmhnJxjna8 Happy picking!

Cool lesson. I've been learning to play Blues guitar since I was 14 years old, 44 years ago. I've lived in Chicago my entire life. I've seen many, many, Blues legends at local live music joints in Chicago in the 1980s. I've picked up Blues riffs from listening to records over, and over, and over again. But this particular riff, as easy as it is, is new to me. I've never bended the minor 3rd on the 5th fret of the D string a half step up to the major 3rd -- or, more "Bluesy", partially up to the major 3rd. I usually hammer-on the G-sharp (major 3rd) from the open G (minor 3rd). Pretty cool. Thanks. I'll definitely incorporate that into my repertoire.

What a great lesson sir. Easy to absorb. I have played all those little trips and stuff, but all scattered around during blues noodles. But I never have a real template or know what I'm playing. I just bang around and find stuff that fits etc. It's cool getting delta stuff. Now I can act like I know all about delta blues lol. I been playing, but not performing for around 30 yrs. But default of time and now KZbin, it's starting to stick. Never knew delta patterns . Very cool. Gives ya a great ride with cool sounding tones . Thanks.

Love you teaching style. Everybody shows the fretboard from the same angle out here in the crowd. I would like to see the view from your eyes. I cannot see through your fingers or anyone else’s they’re all the same.Like when you’re bending the fourth or the fifth I can’t tell which finger using weather on the fourth of the fifth I have to guess as with many other notes put the camera where your eyes are so I like you can see what are you really doing. Thank you

Hi John, I loved your lesson. As a beginner (1 year) this really is something that even I can play. The biggest problem for me is the tempo and timing. It would really help me if you started or ended the video with a full play through.

Agreed. First of all - just to say that I love John’s lessons, and appreciate the effort and thought that gets put into them. Thank you J. Great work as always. Yes, the timing is tricky in places, (eg bars 7 & 8). It’d be helpful to have markers for “1-and-a-two-and-a-three-and-a-four-and-a” so we could know where exactly some of these notes fall. Hey, I know it’s probably easy for the more experienced folk out there, but if this is intended for us beginners, it’d be super useful. Thanks John.
