Literally picked up my first PM2 in the brown micarta. This is only my 3rd knife so I took a huge jump in my collection haha. But now I’m even more stoked to be able to change things like this. I didn’t even think about changing the handled too. Saw some pretty cool custom ones on eBay even. Love this knife

If it’s the version with cru west it has full liners. Most other pm2 have recessed liners so make sure your scales with the version you have

Applied Weapons Tech has scales for your “Crucarta”. Most aftermarket scale companies don’t make any to fit the PM2 micarta cruwear liners.

I always like your vids kid. You remind me of me but you record it. Been drooling heavy over Blade Chops on IG. Particularly Shaman mods. Seems all the choppers use this clip. You have to drill n tap the liners but man that opens a whole new world of possibilities imo. Love the chop! PS- You n that lanyard tube had me laughing. Those things are pure hell. Been plugging my 2s n 3s. Way easier installing, the disassembly is still just as fun tho. N that tap is a 2-56 n thats straight from Rips.

I had the problem of a pocket clip screw pushing the knife apart so just grinded the one screw down 1/32” with a mini Dremel sand wheel . My clip came handmade and I can tell , lol . He still did a good job just not so straight and even jimping but it’s good enough. Handmade is good . I have to look for it to notice .

If you're going to do the clip and back spacer, you might as well get a titanium screw set as well. I think bronze would look good with the green scales if you ever decide to ano them, but the raw silver color look fine too.I don't think blue or purple would look good, but that's just my opinion. To each their own. I like that version of the PM2 you got. They are a nice shade of green.The lanyard tubes are a bitch to get apart. There is a tool that makes it easy. I can't think who makes it..maybe Shepard? It's one of the guys who make the custom scales anyway, and cost $35 bucks. If you ever plan to do other knives like a Para 3 or the Manix, it might be worth the money. If you're only doing one knife, maybe not..depends on how much you value the ease of use versus the pia of not using it, lol. I do like that clip. It looks better than the Lynch or MXG clips, and probably more ergonomic.

Don't drill a hole in the backspacer... Shave down the screw a lil bit with some sandpaper.. All ya need!

I put a spacer on the tanto version and it knicked the edge of the convex where it comes up. Just beware if you have a tanto version. It's not a huge deal you can rework the blade and put electrical tape under the spacer but it is annoying to deal with.

Nice video, but don’t go offline to get things to fit. Show the process to make things fit. I would make it work, but not everyone has the tools or knowledge to make things work.

Believe it or not I don't mind tip down carry. I have a Spydero Military coming this week which is only to down!

I know this is and old video but regardless it's great; I recently received my first Spyderco pm 2 with a CPM S45 VN blade, I don't have any experience since it's my first Spyderco now, I also want to customize it starting with a back spacer to reduce any dirt or dust, but should I wait untill my warranty expires? I mean taking it apart will void my 6 monthly warranty.
@macmiddlebrooks12 жыл бұрын
I'd recommend foregoing the backspacer as it just adds more weight to an already somewhat heavy knife. I also recommend micarta scales from Sharp Dressed Knives...way better than the og g10 and lightweight too.

I've been wanting to upgrade mine for a while but I don't have much use off my left hand anymore from an accident and I cant take apart the knife if I wanted to unfortunately. is there any companies that you know of that will do upgrades for you?

Interesting knife owners like open spacers to not collect lint and debris, and we buy the backspacer for money mind you and put them back in.. no sense to me
