Learned using magnets when I used to switch weapons out on my Ork Boyz back when I used to play 40k. It wasn't hard and helped me with different choices. Thanks for the video and keep up the great work.

Great video, i love magnetizing all my GW models from the smallest Space marine to the largest Titan. Also magnets gives you the possibility to repose your models not just the weapon. And a great trick i have learned is that you don't always need two magnets, sometimes the parts are to small to drill into then i use small parts of tin can that i glue to the part and a magnet in the other.

Rare earth magnets are expensive, but strong! Any way you can avoid doubling up on them is good thing. Also: recycling on that tin can!

So simple,, I've always struggled using two magnets for different weapons options, you know one on the model and one on the weapon, never even considered pinning the weapon makes things just that little bit easier. Trust you Teri ....thanks.

Thanks! I've had some pretty terrible fails by super glue when dealing with magnet-on-magnet connections.

Thank you for this video! I just have a question, I want to use magnets so that I can swap weapons in my Wookie Warriors, but the magnets I have are to large for minis of people (3 by 1 mm), what sized magnet should I do, or is there another way to be able to swap of weapons on my Wookie's? Thanks!

This is the first video of yours I have seen. Great stuff. With the flight stand for the Airspeeder, have you considered countersinking the base and stand, so the magnet is flush with the base? I will give this a go, as I was looking for a way to reduce the transport space for this base.

I don't collect this Star Wars Legions (I really should) but this is an informative video. Think I need to do this for my Ork army

Have you had a chance to add magnets to the at-st? I was wondering if it would be a good option for the joint between the head and chassis.
@thatterigirl6 жыл бұрын
I haven't but that's partly because that model was just so exciting to build I got ahead of myself. It is a ball-socket joint, and most of the chassis is already somewhat built, but you can probably put a magnet-to-magnet connection in there drilled in. Honestly though, with that socket, you might be better off gluing an exposed pin into the legs, and drilling a hole for it into the chasis and doing it up that way since it's hollow.

That's true. I was thinking it'd be neat to be able to swivel the head during the game to face the enemy, but I wasn't sure about the weight of the head.

@@804homes I glued the ball socket to the head, but then didn't glue the ball socket to the chassis, it can slot in and holds pretty well as is. It lets you turn it side to side and lets me remove the head when transporting to reduce risk of breakage

Where do you buy your magnets? Locally? I’m in Calgary but haven’t seen any
@thatterigirl6 жыл бұрын
I grabbed the tiny ones for the ATRTs (3/32" x 1/16" by Primal Horizons) locally from Imaginary Wars when I lived in Calgary. The bigger ones I just got from Lee Valley (linked in the description - there's one near Ikea in the South - so you can do both IW and Lee valley in a single trip.)
