Omg 😂 Even though your Heading clearly has the words Western style version of this traditional Thai dish 🇹🇭 You have tsunami of comments letting you know that this recipe is not how you make pad krapow 🤪 I guess it is always hard to make these cooking videos when you have a large Thai audience that may not have a great understanding of English . Anyway it was a great video , and corinas version looks very yummy and I’m sure a lot of vegans watching were love with the recipe . I love your foodie video skills with the camera , as the angles and quality looked really good , so well done Earl 👍 I’m looking forward to filming myself and Nisha cooking some of her incredible Thai recipes for our channel .

Cheers Dale! Can’t wait to see you and Nisha cook those recipes together! All good we might just have to play it safe with Vegemite on toast next time…

Love this vegan alternative version. Food is all about being creative and making it work for ourselves the way we like it ❤️🙏
Yes it’s good protein in this meal. Have you tried it?

I understand that this version is different from the original because it’s vegan - actually the ginger in Thailand has 2 types you have to notice the sign before you buy. If you want the tough stringy one like in Europe you have to look for “ ขิงแก่” mature ginger. The young one will be soft like what you have in this video - pad kra pao use kra pao ( holy basil). What you is toting different type. It’s “horapa” โหระพา - it’s bjust basil. 🤷🏻

@@acrovoyage777 there’s so many. If you’re interested in thai food i recommend a good source it’s the channel “high zone kitchen “. It teaches in thai but you can click for English subtitles. The host very renowned thai chef. She is one of the judges from Master chef Thailand too. There’s so much episode all ready. If you are vegan maybe try Keang liang (แกงเลียง) there’s a lot of vegetables in this soup but you have to substitute some ingredients with vegan ingredients. Like shrimp paste, fish sauce. This soup is peppery spicy. It is different from most dishes that use regular chili. I love the sea salty umami + smell of many herbs and vegetables and pepper in it.
We appreciate your feedback. This is “our own” recipe creation. As stated in the title and the video itself. It is not intended to replicate a Traditional Thai meal. Appreciate your feedback though. 🙏

Ihhh, I always used fish sauce as well but unlike Oyster, which some Vegan’s find acceptable Fish sauce doesn’t cut it. I never used Sugar(Thai style heaps of sugar, msg, salt and heaps oil)This is probably why you find street pad krapow more spicy) Nice alternative recipe Corina, much healthier.

Thanks for the comment. Yeah it’s a bit of a healthier alternative.

ผมว่านั่นไม่น่าใช่กะเพรานะครับน่าจะเป็นโหระพา

It’s basil

FYI : There are 3 different types of basil. กะเพรา (Kaphrao, Holy basil) -ex. menu Pad kaphrao moo saap **โหระพา (Horapa, Sweet basil, Basil) -ex. menu Green/Red Curry แมงลัก (Mangluk, Lemon basil) -ex. menu Gang liang (menu recommend vegan) **in clip you used "Horapa" not "Kaphrao"
