Just watched your beginners guide to CNC software, wanted to see what Carveco is about, searched "Carveco Maker Tutorial" and clicked your link without knowing it was you! COULDN'T BE MORE HAPPY! Your videos are THE BEST! I find myself attempting to catch you leaving some little detail untouched only to have you seemingly read my mind and hit me with the info on cue! Thanks for all you do! Now back to the video...

Thank U much for this one! It has been the most helpful thus far for me. Still haven’t been able to setup the start coordinates though. I’m really encouraged now.

Wow, I was just looking at Carveco last night, just finishing up my prover 4030 enclosure, and this is prefect timing, I hate figuring out new software and because I have A.D.D. reading dry manuals literally makes me fall asleep, I really appreciate KZbinrs that make tutorials thank you so much. Also looks like there's similarities to lightburn, I may be wrong I'll get a better look after I get it on my computer after lunch🍜🍶

I purchased a Genmitsu CNC 4040 -PRO and also have the 90 day free trial subscription to Carveco Maker. I have designed a simple pocket project but haven’t gotten it to the cut-out stage as of yet. I am absolutely new to the world of CNC and this is exactly what I need! I have watched other videos for Carveco Maker but the saving the project part of them did not go into detail as far as the correct way or at least I didn’t understand it because of my ignorance of the complete system. Have watched other videos that you have produced and have enjoyed them very much! Thank you! Lamar

Hello Paul. I am thinking of buying 4040 Pro with Black Friday promo. Are you happy with it? Pros and cons?
@paulstreetman841 Жыл бұрын
@@Cuisinepourmoi I'm happy with the 4040 Pro but as far as Pros & Cons I'm really new to the world of CNC and haven't produced very much with it as of yet and nothing to compare it to. I realize this is not much help in helping you to decide what to get but knowing what I know now I would probably buy it again.

Additionally I mostly import images, stl, svg, etc., do very little creating in this program, so the info I need is bringing in object, resizing, etc so I can set up my object to fit my material, right depth, height, like that. Thanks.

My goal is to create auto parts, use my 3018 to make foam parts i can do lost foam casting, i have been using autocad 2d for the last 30 years, and this program, carveco, looks like it will work for me, i only wish i could use it on a computer not connected to the internet, your videos are very helpful, thanks for the effort.

Let me look into this. I know with Adobe you only have to connect to the Internet once every 90 days I believe

Thank you, Thank you Thank you. You have shown this better than CARVECO Tutorial has it. I can't wait til part 2 shows up. Hope you show how to download vectors off of a web site, clip art, and show how to get it ready to carve. When I get a clip art and convert it from a bitmap to a vector of it, I can't get rid of the bitmap that I copied it from. If that makes any since.

Hello sir. I like yours videos. Your work is helping me a lot. Got a new Genmitsu 4030 and a new program Carveco.... You talked about a link on how to download a bits data base, I cannot find it, where can I find it, and how do I download the database. thanks

Hi James, In CarveCo Maker, the Sainsmart 4040 is not listed as a machine for output format. Which machine should I use? Thanks for your help.
@JamesDeanDesigns Жыл бұрын
In part 2 to this video I talk you through what to do and the best settings regardless of machine but you essentially need to select "GRBL(mm)"

Hi James, thanks for the content, recently discovered your channel and I am really enjoying your content. started following along on my laptop using carveco while watching and have a question. when I select the square vector and select transform the corner radius tool is not in the menu, is there a way to adjust the radius after the square has been created? Thanks
@JamesDeanDesigns Жыл бұрын
Not really to my knowledge. I imagine there may be some fancy work around but probably just easier to create a new shape
@philipguy6646 Жыл бұрын
Thank you, good to know so I don’t go in circles trying to figure it out 😀
@Carpenters_Canvas Жыл бұрын
hey how do you make it so when you get the center the curser changes? also is there a good way to center vectors within another vector? like say I have words I want to be in the center a circle, or a design in the center of a shape that is not used through f9?"
@JamesDeanDesigns Жыл бұрын
Not sure how I did that with the cursor, I just always been like it but I'll try and find out. As for alignments, you can select 2 separate objects, click the Vector menu and come down to align and you'll have a lot of options.

Hi James Im still a newby to CNC but I have followed your tutorials since i bought my 3018 pro. I am looking to purchasing Carvco Maker and i am following your tutorials but my version shows mm/sec and your presentation shows mm/min and i cant find how to change my setings only a small problem but pain to convert all the time. Great vids.
@JamesDeanDesigns Жыл бұрын
To change that, you have to go into the tool database, open up that specific tool you plan to use and in the new pop up box you should be able to switch between mm/sec and mm/min

Just watched this video for the 5th time. ?how do you move text around to organize or add a line? I'm 88 yrs and having a ball with this never done this before thing. Last year was Xtool and laserburn. got that down pat now on to something new. I really think you've got the most detailed videos. I'll be watching.

Love your channel James. I am soon to purchase my first machine. I was going to go with the Masuter Pro following your review, but I have just seen the relatively new Genmitsu 4040, which uses screw thread bars for all axes, rather than the belts of the Masuter. I am wondering if it may be more robust. Will you be reviewing the 4040 soon? If not, any thoughts based on your knowledge? Cheers.
@JamesDeanDesigns Жыл бұрын
I have the 4040 and will be reviewing it soon. Pretty difficult for me to comment as I haven't tested it yet though. My general approach though is belt are better if you plan to run a spindle and a laser, but if just a spindle on its own then screw is better
@daimontilley9860 Жыл бұрын
@@JamesDeanDesigns That is good to know, many thanks. I think spindle and laser is my plan. I may just await your review first though. Cheers.

@JamesDeanDesigns Жыл бұрын
This tutorial to start as it runs through all the basics required. Transforming is essentially the same whether it's something you create or import. Importing can either be drag and drop or use the menus such Vector>Import. Hope that helps

It looks a little similar to Godot, it feels very similar and intuitive to me. If I ever get the opportunity to get a cnc machine I’ll probably go for this software. Just because it feels familiar

Sadly neither of the top 2 CNC software companies do. There are reasons for this. You can get it to work on a mac but requires a little workaround. I covered it in this video kzbin.info/www/bejne/Zp2Vn4KVm7enmNk

Given the cost of Fusion 360 I really dont think Carveco is good value for money.
@JamesDeanDesigns Жыл бұрын
You're joking right? Carveco Maker costs $15 per month, Fusion360 costs $70 per month. Yes Fusion360 is more powerful but also a lot more complex and certain tasks are made harder in Fusion360 because of its complexity. If you're talking about Fusion360 being free. It's only free for personal use, which is fine if you never plan to sell anything.
