Man I'm glad you posted this. Cause I been trying to figure out how to run my rear door speakers in my suv to my 4 channel amp.Thanks a lot.

Just remove the grommet from the car frame and door.Tape the wire securely to a coat hanger.Lube the first 6 inches of it with dish soap and feed it through the rubber boot.Once through,remove the tape and fish the wire into the car door hole and door frame hole.Reinstall the grommet at both ends....done! It really isn't that difficult,you just need patience. This guys method can work in some situations.My method will work for most applications though. If you have to maneuver through molex's,simply go get a strong rope and find a solid tree branch up high.Proceed to hang yourself from the branch to end your misery!

I was like that does make it easy. Then I tried it and the rubber boot thing was so freakin' tight and Toyota even had the end at the door all taped up so I had to poke a hole into that end and feed the tube up through and it got stuck on like every accordion bend, but finally made it through and my tube was too small to feed the wire through but I was able to shove enough into the end and slowly pull it back through and it freakin' worked. Awesome!!!!! okay 3 more to go!

My Subaru Impreza has a double grommet for the front drivers door. I had to pierce the inner grommet to get the wire through using a wire clothes hanger. Dreading doing the other side tomorrow.
@rodneyguyette112922 күн бұрын
Did you get it?
@shahidyt22 күн бұрын
I used the wire hanger again for the other side door. For the power cable I used a flexible rod, which really helped. The rod is actually used to pick up dropped screws/nuts in tight spaces, but worked well

Good idea, but sometimes those rubber in the door have a molex connector and then this wont work, but if not this is solid idea.
@blackman72496 жыл бұрын
How bout this idea. Tape the end of your new speaker wire so that the end is down and won’t get snagged and make sure tape it good so it won’t pull loose, electric tape works good because it’s slick, find the oem wire on the inside and use that to pull your new wire through the door. Was that a run on sentence? I’m actually running new wire for the first time but I work in construction I that’s how I change out wiring in the walls. Use the old to pull the new through. I’m hoping it works just as easy in car doors. And damn I’ve never watched so many you videos. It makes me mad. The things I could’ve built when I was a kid if I had you tube. Your ways good too but if you didn’t feel like going to buy tubing or the grommets don’t pull out. My grommets came out easy so that’s just one less bend I have to pull through. Thanks for the info.

That's what I was thinking. It's worth the try. But some vehicles the wire might be attached somehow.

Thought this was common sense. Now my question is, what the helldo you do in newer cars where there is no grommet, but just one electronic connector instead?

If your referring to the molex plus situation. Often times there is a few polygamy not in use and u can drill through the plug to feed ur wire through. Most people choose not to due to the fact one slip can ruin the whole plus then ur at the dealership.
@michaelkane28834 жыл бұрын
It's actually easier if you unplug it and look for two empty pin hole and make you own connection that way. That way it make a solid connection.

thank you ... hose ... perfect... I keep using Big thick klien brand fish tools ... I'm noticing places now use the same color wire that's behind your deck ... and they twist the wire with a drill ... then zip tie the twist every few inches ... I've been trying to imagine how to twist a wire then zip tie it clip the excess of the zip ties off and fish that into one of those little rubber sleeves in the door I was trying to imagine that forever... I have Sound Diego's put door speakers in my car....just so they would put new clean speaker wires to my door... they ran my amps wires behind my deck ....cut my new wiring harness that was from my Kenwood to my cars OEM plug .. I was really OCD soldering and shrink wrapping that harness... it was clean .. I used two clear shrink wrap on 1 speaker to display my soldering job ... took years of electricians in highschool ... everyone seemed to be into RC cars at the time ... but they cut my harnesses... and crimp the amp wires behind my stereo deck ... I paid them twice to do this ... first time they just plugged the speakers into my original wires coming off my deck .. not to my amp .. I bought Focal speakers just so they would hook my 5 channel up for me ... to wire it to the doors ... nope... I live in Spokane Washington .. I only can down for the weekend ... I got there Friday or Saturday... when I noticed no wires coming off my amp cause my new door speakers just didn't sound that good ... how can my speakers be on my amp if there's no door speaker wires ... they were closed the weekend.. I waited it out ... went back ... I said look I'm not asking for free work... I believe there was a misunderstanding between the guy working behind the counter and the guy working in the shop because it was a new guy behind the counter when I showed up after the weekend .... I said ..I WILL PAY YOU FOR THE WORK PLEASE WIRE MY DOOR SPEAKERS TO MY AMP .. THEY GUY UNDERSTOOD .. I WENT TO LUNCH WITH MY SON... came back didn't go over car .. there's no way it's wrong .... I'm noticing now I have an alternator whined a very light one so I'm thinking maybe it's a ground problem or they ran a wire over the top of somewhere .... so I see wires coming out of my amp .. I think well I can check it out later...at least my doors are wired in... when I pulled my deck out when I got home I noticed that they cut my wires and crimp the amplifiers right behind my deck into the original speaker wires that go out into the car that's like adding double the speaker wire and unprofessional because it's not going to each door it's a wire going around my car ... then ending behind my deck ...now I've dynomated my whole car but the doors ... my lower interior pieces are out ... and I've been dreading this moment ... of wiring the doors in myself... but the hose is perfect... I can't believe I paid Sound Diego 2 times ... and they screwed me over both times ... I apologize for the drama ... it just upsets me that I literally have to do everything myself....

Wouldn't they be fine if you just taped them to one side of the tube, pull them through till tight, then just untape them and leave the wires that way? Or do they need protection

easyier way is to do like you are in the begining, but stick the wires in the tube, even more than 2 then tape them tight to the tube, , and just pull them untill you get the taped wires, out the other side, , fishing only once, not twice,

See some vehicles actually have a plug connector where the grommet is , on the outer body where it meets the door . The teick for that one is to unplug the connector and dril a couple holes in it And feed the wires through that way 💪😎👋
@NateDawg61257 жыл бұрын
Gonna use this for my ghost projections because I have to hook it to the dome light. If your adding a custom speaker in a new spot on the door this is a great video. BUT here is an easier way: 1. Take out stock speaker and install aftermarket speaker. 2. Use the SAME wires from your stock speakers and hook up + , - wires to new speaker. 3. Now take off your dash panel to access behind the head unit. 4. Find the wires from that door speaker (should be a total of 8 wires, 2 per door, gray and white, black and gray, etc.) 5. Finally, splice those wires and connect new wires WITH them and then run em' along the foot panels to your amplifier in your trunk. 4 wires on the left, 4 wires on the right. I personally think this is a lot easier than fishing a wire through the door especially doing that 4 times. Also, if you have an aftermarket head unit its a lot faster and efficient.

Depends on if you want to change the gauge of the wire that your speakers are using. If it's the same then yep, i wouldn't bother running new wire.

i had a real hard time to get a wire from behind the glove compartment to the radio. so i decided to tape another spare wire to the end that i just got thru. then pulled that spare one thru by pulling the first one. then tape all your cables but step them so there not all taped at the same spot. some other spots you can cut a existing wire to pull a "guide or lead" then pull it back along with your other(s). so good luck fishing 🎣 wires!

Hey quick question. I see your power wire running through the door frame. How did you do that or how are you keeping it from being cut when the door closes
@MadDragon755 жыл бұрын
Maybe for many cars, but my 95 accord LX has a plug under the lower boot of the door loom and no hole to pass through, just an empty square for a plug. And I couldn't even fish through the loom due to window, lock, and mirror wires.
