Key Steps:
Ensure your eBrake is OFF before beginning the service.
Open the hood of your VW.
Access OBDEleven: Apps 👉🏾 Workshop 👉🏾 Change Brake Pads.
Click the drop-down menu and select "Open" to initiate the rear brake service mode.
Press and hold the green check mark at the bottom of the screen. Listen for the EBC motor to run and retract the piston stops.
Remove the retaining spring, guide bolts, caliper, and old brake pads. Compress the piston straight back and unplug the e-brake plug.
Install new brake pads, caliper, guide bolts, and retaining spring. Reconnect the e-brake harness plug.
Return to OBDEleven: Apps 👉🏾 Workshop 👉🏾 Change Brake Pads.
Select "Close" from the drop-down menu and hold the green check arrow. Listen for the motor to pump the calipers as it learns the new pad thickness.
