This is the first useful self haircutting video I've viewed. A totally straightforward delivery of instructions. Props.

This is perfect. There is absolutley no need to get all fancy shmancy with the fades and what not. In times like this, you just need to look presentable and have a lighter head while you stay home.
@jeffstumpf91294 жыл бұрын
I can't help myself - is to have a "lighter head" like having "a good head of air" (see Darry's typo in his comment)?

I watched a few videos and ended up listening to the first two (yours was the second) that made two distinctive decisions: 1) Go from long to short 2) Don't use anything but clippers. The only difference between you was the choices of clipper guards, and I went with yours because the other guy's result looked shorter than I like. Pretty happy with it! I've decided that about 20% of the time spent in the salon was the person paying very close attention to tiny details that no one will notice in less than a week.

Yea!!! I cut my own hair with the clippers and guess what I am totally blind. It is not hard to do you just feel where you are .I can always tell if hair is uneven. That is when you go back over and make sure that everything is good. I have been told by many that it looks as if I went to the barber. Oh the other thing I do, if you want to keep that bathroom neat cut your hair in the shower. I use the clippers in the shower but I don’t at all have the water running. This way, the hair goes down in the shower and it doesn’t make a mess. Collect it after you are done and you are good to go. Not a vacuum needed. It is all their.
@ALinn-vr3nl2 жыл бұрын
great idea, in the shower, especially if cutting it by feel. thanks!
@benjaminbrown52452 жыл бұрын
@@ALinn-vr3nl well, sense my first reply about a year ago lol!!! I actually got another couple of clippers and trimmers sense then. They are vacuum ones. It just keeps the whole process neat and tidy. Yep i still have the other clippers but my favorite ones these days seem to bee the vacuum ones. Hahahaha!!! Those clippers not only cut the hair but clean it up at the same time cutting it while keeping the hair off of the floor and off of your neck.

Thank you for this video. I just did my hair myself for the first time ever. I'm happy with the result and my wife was impressed. I'm also going tho buy a number 10 comb to get it al little longer on top. I had watched a few diy videos but this looks the easiest to do.

Actually, it looks pretty good Aaron! You saved yourself some money. I am considering cutting my own hair because I am tired of paying $25 for crappy haircuts. Your system is just backwards of all the other how-to haircut videos I see here on KZbin. They recommend starting at the bottom and working your way up with each change of the clipper guard. Your way seems to make more sense to me.

Interesting how this gentlemen cut his hair with the trimmer 3mm 4mm, 5mm, or 7mm with those attachments like combs very skilled. On sides, back and edges, many people use phillips trimmer, Braun or remington. Wow! to see different people who cut their hair during the Coronavirus COVID19 quarantine
@jeffstumpf91294 жыл бұрын
I don't think that was what he was doing. Notice how the hair was on the top of his head was much longer than 7mm? Here are the haircut numbers and their respective clipper guard sizes (lengths): Number 1 - one-eighth of an inch Number 2 - one-quarter of an inch Number 3 - three-eighths of an inch Number 4 - one-half of an inch Number 5 - five-eighths of an inch Number 6 - three-quarters of an inch Number 7 - seven-eighths of an inch Number 8 - one inch

Hey wanted to let you know of tons of videos I looked at to try to get an idea of how to cut my hair yours was by far the most useful. I have been trying to grow my hair into a pony tail but I was in bad need of a pro to clean it up. With lock down still upon us and plans to camp on my sailboats, motorcycles, and bicycles the short hair just makes more sense. Got the nerve today to do the job and although it is far from perfect I am quite pleased with the way it turned out. Don't want to over work it so I will let it grow out a bit than try to make some improvements as I get more comfortable using the clippers.

going left handed was fairly impressive. some people are really one handed, like my wife for instance. i have always used both hands and can do most things with both except write. what was really impressive however was cutting the back with a mirror. everything is opposite in the mirror so that would require some practice and patience. nice job.

I just bought what looks like the same Wahl your showing here. It was very informative...but it would be nice to show a close up on how you add a blade and remove it. ..also the instructions says to cut against your hair growth, not with it and do not wet it. Other demos here show different ways with different shavers, so what applies for one set may not apply for the other. I have not used mine yet, I wanted to see how its done and yours was the best..thank you.

You pretty much have to cut your own hair in America to not get ripped off, since they charge 20 bucks now for a haircut in the US plus they expect a tip too. What a ripoff. In Asia I'm used to getting 3 dollar haircuts and I don't even need to pay a tip. So I can't get used to 20 dollar haircuts in the US. No way. Crazy.

Good video but watching this I have flashbacks of 1969, I was a 7th grader in a parochial school. There the nuns had a hair code. Your hair couldn't touch your ears or shirt collar. One Sunday night we just got home from aunt's house. My mom noticed my hair and instructed my older brother to trim my hair with her new Ronko razor comb. It was a small hand comb with a razor blade sandwiched between the halves. Well moving along with the comb I jerked my head as my brother combed from my center hairline towards the back of my head. This jerk resulted with a 2 inch white stripe. I looked like a skunk! We both looked into the mirror and burst out laughing until I realized that stripe was real. The tears quickly followed when my mom walk in and saw the damage. Think about it. This was the age of the hippies and I was a skunk! Well the next day I was in a barbers' chair while he basically shaved my head. Needless to say the razor comb went into the trash. It took almost 2 years to grow my hair back and my brother's girl friend couldn't understand why I had an inferiority complex:)
